I grew up watching pretty much anything Disney made (probably the same for most people). Anyway, there was this scene in Dumbo that used to scare me, but looking back it is pretty awesome. It gets really random half way through.
Yep, Disney are pretty awesome at combining animation with music. I believe they used Elephants on parade in a version of the fantasmic music, too. Fantasia 2000 has some great animations in it, too, love the flamingos
That's what's missing in the Pixar movies. Hidden messages. Those are what made Disney so great in the past, lol .. maybe?
While Disney movies are still good, I think they've lost alot of what made them great. The style has changed quite a bit, and for the most part that's a bad thing.
Although that "Up" movie looks like it might be good.
I compare Little Nemo to Little Mermaid and find Nemo lacking. Of course, that could be because I was a kid when I watched Little Mermaid and an adult when I saw Little Nemo (that's the right title I hope ... tho one with the 2 fish as main characters). Does anyone remember the old live action animal movies that Disney used to do? How about Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? ... The original Flubber movie (was it even called that originally)?
It could also be that I prefer the hand-drawn imagery to computer generated imagery. Hand-drawn just seems so much more authentic ... as if they put their heart into it more. The CGI films all just look like long versions of something that pretty much anyone could create by spending some time in front of the computer.
Blood of the Ancient One, Seen only as Shadow, Faster than Lightning, Fierce as the Greatest Dragon, Nearly Invisible, Floating in a Dream, Entered through the Demon Door, Destroyer of Evil in a Realm with a Red Sky Scarred, Who could I be ?
Modern cartoons aren't as good as older ones, with very few exceptions. I found Bolt to be very good, and unlike a lot of people I find the 3D version a lot more appealing.
