Everything looks cool except for the words. You should never have a font that takes longer than two seconds to read (and that's a lenient standard) and that's not even readable. It looks like Metal Alliance but it needs to be redone.
It looks great, although I think the second word of the title could be a little clearer... Other than that well done! I'm such a sucker for yellowish/brownish/orangey and black colour schemes x)

Nice Photoshop mash-up, and good uses here and there of bevels and such, but for improvment i'd have to recommend cleaning up the edges, and i'd have to honestly say the grey version if pales in comparison to your improved orange image.
Would you be able to explain how you created the large circular gradient on the orange one, it does look very nice and effective.
The text is real nice for the grey one, but the sharpened pixels and the "Noise" glow around the red gear mainly spoils it.

I'm so far beyond the point of no return I've forgotten what it looked like when I first passed it...
I used the lense flare in Illustrator for the gradient, then combined a bunch of pictures. Also I used Fireworks.Actually, I'm took a break on this game actually. I tried to make a unique engine somewhere between a top down shooter and strategy game, but it didn't work out well.
