Billy Mays was known for his enthusiasm in the products he was selling. If he didn't have as much real enthusiasm, his commercials wouldn't mean anything to me, and I wouldn't even know who he was or what his name was. Which is probably why I don't care about any other infomercials.

Same here. I'd see his commercials and think, "Oh look! It's the guy who looks like the guy that replaced Louie Anderson on Family Feud!"
This logical train of thought always brought me to the quote, "Andy Anderson, excuse yourself!" From Life with Louie. So now whenever I see John O'Hurley hosting Family Feud, I think of a cartoon character with a Minnesotan accent mistaking a Tuba blast for a blast of derrière gas. All because of someone who yelled at me about laundry detergent.
I hope someone else knows what the heck I'm talking about.
But I always thought his commercials were some of the cheesiest. Never saw any "real enthusiasm." Just annoyance.
