Okay, I want to know if this is possible.
I want my character to have 8 different weapons to choose from. He has to pick up the weapon, first.
I want one button to scroll through the weapons (would be shown in a display).
I made the weapons in a numerical order though. Eg. the character may pick up weapon #6 after picking up weapon #2. the display should show wep #2, and if he scrolls, should go to #6, and back to #2 if he scrolls again.
What would be an easy way to do this without having a million events to take care of every possibility of weapon choices?

alts would be alterable values.
and qualifiers are a way to group objects together. you can find them under an objects preferences. right click the object->object preferences->object qualifiers:add
they are both in tgf1.
