I be raggedjimmi! But my wifi adapter (laptop ) is no longer connected to the Xbox so I can't do online stuffs until next week when I can nick my brothers proper USB wifi adapter (why the hell are they £50 ).
Avatar Marketplace. That kinda sums up why Microsoft sucks for me. Pay to dress up an avatar? That's one of the worst ideas since paying people to play games online, or £50 for a wifi adapter! I bleh in Microsofts general direction.
Unless you earnt it ingame. In which case that's cool.

Although I agree with you, there are people out there willing to pay for clothes for their avatar. At the end of the day if Microsoft can make money by doing this, then they're going to do it. Which does suck.
At 80 points for the majority of all the clothes though, really people aren't spending money to buy the extra stuff, they're using up extra points that they didn't use when buying something.

That's why Microsoft use the whole points system - they make you think you're not spending anything, when actually you are

I guess thats not too bad. Earning them in games is pretty snazzy though or as a reward for achievements, I just hope they build upon this foundation.
I haven't played in awhile... but have multiple games that I've been meaning to continue: Ninja Gaiden 2, Bioshock, Resident Evil 5, etc. I've been slack in my slacking.
Don't you think it's a bit silly that your signature image takes up about 5 times the room of your actual comment? Would be better as a clickable link IMO.
You're jealous cause you don't have an Xbox 360 and thus is by default, can't be included in the fun.
Edit: Btw, this point system existed long before the avatars even existed, much less the avatar marketplace. I understand what you're saying, and I always thought it was stupid that you can't buy anything with a single point package that has the exact amount of points you want to buy, and the point packages are always just under 100 points you need. Don't get me wrong, I hate it for doing that, however the avatar marketplace was an interesting and rather entertaining method to smooth over the problem without screwing up with their devious plan to make a few extra bucks.
Id rather own a PS3 to be honest Ive never liked the xbox- from the word go I thought the original xbox looked cheap and nasty, and to this day the games still look somewhat unappealing to me. The only Xbox game I've been interested in is Viva Pinata, and even now I can buy it cheaply for my PC, or get the DS version
For me the appeal for the xbox360 is not just the games but being able to use windows media centre with it is a huge plus. Even just browing into the menu is just entertaining, love it!

I love my Xbox. The girlfriend kept telling me to get one so I just did one lovely day. Not bothered by the connection side of things though, I don't intend on getting a Zune and I don't stream media. So it's purely a console for me but yea. So much funs. Got it hooked up to the Bravia downstairs and its like looking at God.
Funny how we're all using the same gamertag theme though .
Well one thing this thread is kind of proving is that Xbox Live defiantly does a fine job at holding a community together. I mean just seeing all your avatars and all our signatures and us talking about it, really makes you feel like we're apart of something bigger if you will.
Btw, your girlfriend? Has been trying to convince YOU to get an Xbox 360? Damn, you're lucky. Keep an eye on her, cause you don't know what I really look like and I might take her if she feels under appreciated.
I have to say my 360 is the best console i've ever bought, even more so than my PS2 (my last favourite) - i love the games, love playing online, love the controller, love the console (mine has yet to blow up), love everything! I do still love my PS2, but i love my 360 slightly more! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Mine only cost £110 (Arcade). But I was lucky since my bro is a massive 360 addict and had spare drive I could use, and I'm using my macbook as a wifi bridge. So it all worked out peachy! He has about 50 games too so I just borrow them as I go . All in all it was a really good deal, and its another 360 for LAN parties .
The PS3 price drop was nice. It needed to be more though, they only dropped £20-50 here (depending on what SKU and store you bought it from, which is only the price of 1 new game).
The PS3 is like buying a really expensive key to the VIP room that no one really cares enough to get into. Yeah, it's nice but if no one cares to join you than what's the fun? Xbox 360 is where it's at this generation. All those people saying that the Playstation 3 can still be saved, agitate me. It's way too late in this generation to save it. We're already half way through it, since these consoles are planning to hold up till around 2013.
Considering the PS3 is still losing money per console sold, I can't see them dropping it any time soon, much less be willing to actually progress to the next generation. In fact at the press conference this year, they seemed pretty quick to jump straight into how good the Playstation 2 is still doing. What? Yeah it's a great console, but shouldn't you be more focused on the current gen? I don't see Microsoft or Nintendo babying their Xbox or Gamecube. *sigh* Maybe it's because no one can afford to buy the version of the PS3 that actually supports, badly designed, backwards compatibility.
A flame war thread? I can't refuse to chip in!
I like my PS3 because it has better exclusives (and I can get all the decent 360 games I want on the PC anyway). There, I said it.
Oh, I think I'll stick my PSN card in my signature too.
This is war.

This is probably why you should never run a business.
The reason Microsoft and Nintendo don't "baby" the Xbox and Gamecube is because nobody buys them anymore. Have you seen the sales for the PS2 lately? Yeah, they're still selling a lot of them. They're hardly just going to abandon a product that is still selling well, and concentrate on one that is not selling as well at the moment. It makes sense to drain as much cash out of the PS2 as possible, and when it dies put their full effort into the PS3.
I'm completely stunned at the fact you think the PS3 needs "saving" too - I know they don't sell more than the 360 per month, but they're not far away. I really would like to know where you get this stuff from
I'll be honest, I think the Playstation 3 gamertag looks rather ugly. To each their own, but if we're going to voice opinions as fact, than there's mine. In the same respect though, the avatars on the Xbox 360 are ugly too, but the rest is very sleek and comfortable to view. I've used the Playstation 3 interface at a friends house and even though it is very beautiful, it reminds me too much of the old Xbox 360 dashboard, which I used to like but this new Zune inspired dashboard is much more comfortable to use now.
Well, to be honest, both tags look bland and generic to me. The xbox one is just a bunch of gradients, the ps3 one has that stupid pornsite shinyface. And gradients. You could say I am not much of a tag man.

The sackboy basically represents LittleBigPlanet. When creating your PSN card you can choose a game, and each game has it's own design. For example, MGS4 has solid snake on it.
The number on the left is your "level", and the number at the side of it is your "score/number of trophies" (the higher the score, the higher the level).
The other numbers represent the trophies you earn (bronze, silver, gold, platinum). It's pretty simple really.
Ohh klik gamercards! I like! What would be even cooler if we could "unlock" klik points when playing community games that were added to for example your tdc account, like the xbox 360 does. It is kinda fun unlocking points while playing games and it is sucking me into certain games more then i normally would.

Xbox gamercards for the Xbox 360 are not limited to just the ones we're using. There is a whole site dedicated to generating a gamercard, we just happen to all be using the same one.

There are lots of sites that offer different ones for the PS3 too (because Sony actually allow sites access to the API). So yeh, another point to us
I've always thought about doing a points/achievements system for Klik games, which would be stored on the DC servers. Would probably be a lot of work though..

The monkey box is my avatar.
The text under my name is:
- Favourite PS product (can choose between PSP, PS2 and PS3 I believe)
- Favourite game at the moment (mine is MAG)
- My mood (which is "weird", because I am)
The three game icons represent the last 3 games I got trophies in (Ghostbusters, Fat Princess, Dead Space).
And no you can't use your Home avatar in place of anything - mainly because Home is disconnected from everything else for some reason. I would much prefer to have my LittleBigPlanet sackboy as my "avatar" or something though.
