Yeah, I managed to get into Edge Hill to study animation! Passed my exams, got 90 more points than I needed and now I'm just like woo!
Anyway, enough of that, I just would like to say, I've come back now! I've finished my wee lil holiday of camping/visiting family/resultsday ect ect. I was hoping to have a lil something for you to download, but sadly I still havn't finished some of it off yet. I'm hoping for this lil game to be released in the next couple of weeks. Trust me, it's a blast! (No it isn't a new project, its something I've been working on for quite a while now)
Finally I want to ask about what's been happining around the forums and what not, need to catch up on a month worth of gossip guys! (God I sound like an old woman).
Welcome back sir, perhaps you missed the grand discussion on selling click games, TDC's financial status (which is temporarily fixed), and Johnny Look's new game he plans to sell to raise some extra $$$ for TDC.
Glad you're back! Hasn't had as much of a complete feeling without ya. Btw, can you show some of your works you made while you were away? It sounds like you got a great deal done and done well!
Congratulations. If you're doing Animation they should start teaching you the basics of 3D maya etc in the 1st-2nd year. My tutors gave people the option to study stop motion, hand-drawn and 3D, which is silly really, considering the industry uses mainly 3D nowadays.
Ah, glad to have you back, Joel! I missed your crazy self.
Happy to hear everything's going well for you, mate!

Aww cheers for your kind comments! Made me smile. Was hard getting in slightly, although this year near enough everyone in our college got in. (even if their grades were just below.) I feel sorry for the people in clearing because there are hardly any spaces this year apprently. Anyway, yeah cheers again for ya comments. If tDC is a little short cashed, I might be able to give some money, but I'll have to wait until my new bank card comes before I can do that.
@Werewoof: I'm releasing Squeak, but I need to finish off some levels and make some music. Sadly I didn't have enough time over my holiday . So no new game. Unless I release a genesis style SHMUP engine (with two player).
@hagar: I agree totally, our teachers at 6th form were terrible. Only one that really helped me was my media teacher (Chris) and my learning support teacher (Chris). Different people.
@Adam: Maya, aye learning that from the word go. Why I wanted to study animation, cause I'm hoping to get into the whole gaming industry as an animator. Hard thing to do, but shall be fun to see what happens.
To be honest I found the animation part of the course boring. Sounds crazy saying that, but I enjoyed the concepting and storyboarding parts to be my favourite, hence why I'd rather do that in the industry.

You know Adam I think to be honest I'll prolly like the exact same thing. I was going to study concept level design (something like that) at Teeside but I went up to check and the uni looked a bit naff compared to Edge Hill. Ah well.
Hah, I guess I'm the only one not enjoying uni. It's hell
Anyway, animation sounds like a fun course to take. I'm sort of on the other side, being the guy who has to code Photoshop-like effects and not using it for anything, so it's not very fun here

I've never really been a fan of institutional education (if thats a word), just never seems to work properly for me. But then again, thats probably cause I'm addicted to making games.
