Have a butchers, see what you think. I added my thoughts to the downloads page yet i'd like to also add that this guy is trying some interesting stuff and, for a newbie, has come a long, long way (if i'm not mistaked, he's only been using MMF since March?). It's people like James, with their fresh ideas and new ways of working, that keeps me coming back to this site time and again
the game did have a few problems that could be easily fixed like the controls, but overall it has quite a lot of potential.
It's also nice to see newcomers starting with MMF2, I have the impression there are less and less people starting with klik products , most klikers have been users for several years now.
Johnny touches upon a good point - most of us have been using it for years and we sometimes forget what we were like when we were n00bs.
As for this game, i think it has oodles of potential - there were many great ideas in there that could make this game great with some more coding knowledge. You could say, "i like the cut of his gib"!
indeed, his game reminds me of my first releases, they had pretty crappy graphics but there were some nice ideas in them. Most of the successful games I see here look absolutely great but the gameplay turns out to be generic (but it doesn't mean it's not fun) which is a shame.
I think the longer you spend in any community, the more you end up "fitting into" it, and your fresh, individual and unique ideas become replaced with those similar to the people around you - it's not just TDC, it happens everywhere in life.
Generally, i find that the most refreshing gaming ideas/premises are from the newest members of TDC.
I'll admit it I'm pretty generic with my games, mostly because I don't make game because of good ideas. I just absolutely love to code and try to make things I've seen just to see if I can.
Although I do hope that inspiration for something fresh and new will hit me one of these days. I'd love to make something a little on the crazy side. It's just so hard because I'm so much of a perfectionist when it comes to games.
