A lot of people have said that they have good ideas based around this idea. Should we increase the time limit in order for people to polish their games more? The time limit is very relaxed so perhaps we should just say "Make a game this Sunday" and call this a challenge rather than a competition. The gameplay limitation is pretty tight so it should still be fun to take part. All suggestions welcome.
Yeah I think setting a day to do the challenge in would be fine. Perhaps if the limit were more vague, more like 2 hours to get the major work in place (kind of a tech-demo version), and no restriction on time used for polishing or presentation etc.
I remember in a previous competition, I submitted Star Pilot Supreme or something. I ran out of time, and didn't get to test it enough. The enemies started out spawning too slowly, so it probably appeared boring to anyone giving it a quick go. If I'd just tweaked it a little, it could've gotten straight to the real fun action and probably fared better. Of course we can't go nuts giving people extra time, but every entry should have had a chance to do some testing to get more desirable results.
Maybe an extra rule or two could help on keeping the creation time down, like only being able to use google images for graphics

It's already looking pretty difficult to organise this for everyone at the same time. Between 5-6pm GMT on Sunday still looks most likely. What timezone are you in?
I'll be away all weekend until Sunday morning (GMT). Just in case you have any questions and try to ask here, I won't be able to answer them immediately. But this contest will begin on Sunday afternoon!
