I just had an idea for a game series that we all clickers can work on! It might be silly, fun or plain stupid. But I would like to hear what you people think of it.
So the idea is that I (or someone else ) makes a simple game. Fun, but simple, especially simple to make. The game might last 10 minutes or so, then if you complete it you will get a code. It's the same code for everyone. This code is your winning ticket!
So you got the code, now you must comment the code on the games download page. The first one to do so will be the winner(!). The winners prize will be to make the games sequel. So the person who did the latest episode of the game will send the games source to the winner, who can start working on the next episode.
The whole meaning of this game series is that any clicker can be part of a hopefully big series, and will give clickers a chance to connect with other clickers! It will also be fun to see how the episodes plays out, formed after the creator.
So what do you think? Silly/fun/stupid? Why?
Thank you
Cool idea! The code thing maybe sort of unneeded, it just might be better if it was first come first serve. But I think I'll join in sometime I hope this does well!
I'll see how it will begin... The thread idea (Jon Lamberts) sounds nice, but I wonder if it will get enough attention from only the forums, since alot of clickers only visit the download page. Perhaps add it to the download page, then make a thread with all the current episodes? I would like to hear more thoughts from people!
It was my intention to have my project be a community effort. No one seems too interested in contributing so I make the episodes myself to keep it going. I'm completely for having multiple people make content. I'd also be for merging so long as what I have so far is the base of it. That could allow for changes to be made over time. I'm be making the games myself until someone speaks up, though.
Sounds like a fun idea, but what if the person who makes the sequel doesn't finish it?
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Hmm... How about any one can make a sequel, but the "winner" makes the official one?
So if we don't see an official sequel in a long time, then we keep on working on any other sequel.
OR... The "winner" realizes he/she don't got time to make a sequel, so he/she hands over the task to some one else.
I think it's a good idea actually, whether the winner only makes the next section of the game or the winner is chosen from loads of entries (though i suspect people will tire of making a sequel/follow-up that never gets chosen).
