At first i was like YAY a new Silent Hill to look forward to... that was until i saw the trailer.
An Ice World...
People have Populated Silent Hill...
Harry Supposedly lives in Silent Hill!?
Cybil's hair is brown!?
DAHLIA HAS REGRESSED 30 YEARS AND BECAME A PROSTETUTE!?
What the hell are they doing!?
This is not silent hill; this is those idiot american kid designers screwing the franchise over AGAIN!
Silent Hill started to go wrong right after Silent Hill 4; why are they doing this?
What about all those subtle prods at peoples subtle fears?
This is not Silent Hill... and it definetly isn't Sparta.¬_¬
This is using 1 idea and rapping around the game like a bad christmas present; all they've done is "What if the player can't defend themself?" AND THATS IT!
To me the only thing that matters is if they capture the same mood- the anxiety, and the psychological overtones. The setting and characters could be anything they really wanted, as long as they get that right. Which so far looks good.

Actually, you can blame the British for this one. Love how we get blamed for it though.
Actually, I'd rather say that you can blame the English if it turns out to be a pile of mince.
Looks like they've nailed the atmosphere though. To the OP: Climax have more than a few good games under their belt so I think you can have a little faith in them. I agree that the first half of the trailer is horrible, though.
I guess you haven't bothered to read up on the game. Things will change depending on your actions. People will change, locations, etc. Cybil's hair could be brown. Or it could be blonde.
A) it is used for trivial things and barely makes a difference, ala gender choices in 99% of games
B) it doesn't play up a psychological angle at all but instead is just glorified rubber band difficulty

Can you also choose what she wears throughout the game? Or maybe that screenshot is taken from an alternate reality where no female character can appear in a video game unless she's wearing skimpy clothes and leaning over tables to talk to people. OH WAIT that's actual reality.

There are some games that are good about it. Like in Half life 2, Alex is dressed normally and doesn't get into all these sex poses. Something I really appreciate about the game.

I'm confused, I see this screenshot yet the trailer looks like it's of a 10 years old game.
