I am posting this to see how honest people are about their idiotic tendencies when using computers. What stupid things have you done when you have been using a computer?
for example, i have:
Clicked the "X" on a screenshotof a window/applicatiob to try and close it.
Tried to use an external mouse for the best part of 5 minutes without it being plugged in!!
Come on people own up to the things you have done.
but the vibrating win98 style windows are the most urgent! especially if they're informing you of having "WON!!!!" something non-specific.
i once fell for one of those messenger things "omg lol m8 pl8 prost8 look at this picture http://blaitant.virus.jpg.exe" in my defence the guy genuinely did stay stuff like omg and m8... i havnt spoken to him in years now

I honestly just clicked this link to see what it was.. (:
Your just jealous that you're not as awesome as me.
(And my megaman avatar )
I have done that so many times. I remember once when a link to meatspin was posted on a website and everyone was saying DON'T CLICK IT, its awful. what did i do??? I clicked it. OMG why????

I just woke up so I'm not sure. Because I work on both OSX and XP I frequently get the CTRL and CMD keys mixed up (copy in XP being CTRL+C, OSX being CMD+C). Or thinking I'm under OSX and pressing CMD+CTRL+D to bring up the mini dictionary thing or trying to activate Expose.
I'm sure I've done a lot of little silly things. However, they've been spread over the course of many years, so I would be hard pressed to remember any! Clicking the X on a screenshot sounds vaguely familiar.
I once removed a heat sink for a graphics card because it used up too much space to put the fan. It got hotter without the heat sink even though I put a little fan on it

I overclocked my GeForce 2 Ti to play Unreal Tournament 2003. Blew the card and textures could no longer be displayed , underclocked it but it no longer worked right. But it fixed itself after a couple of months.
Thank god that graphics cards no longer break when you overclock them . Already going 150mhz faster for L4D and no problems yet!
And building a computer over the summer I forgot to put the correct screws in and stuff rattled about like mad when the fans kicked in. Probably knocked a couple of years off the HDD's life.
Not so much on the computer, but still computer related. I've a couple of times done something stupid in real life and automatically my brain thought "Ctrl-Z!"
There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary and those who don't.
I once bought what I thought was a great deal on a "Pocket PC", but when I got it, it turned out to be a Pocket PC keyboard. Wasted a good $25. The reason I thought it was a handheld was that it had a picture of one for the product image... with the mini keyboard on it . Now I plan on getting myself a cheap Dell Axim X5 for Xmas.
When life gives you lemons, make orange juice and let them wonder how you did it.
I'd recommend against that old of a model. I have an old pocket PC someone gave me for free. It was really cool, but the more years go by, the harder it is to find programs compatible with PPC OS 2002. Everything's Winmo now. I pull out the ol' PPC every once in a while, but I never find anything to use on it anymore. (It's old, so when the battery gets bonked out you lose all programs--I have none of the stuff I did manage to find left.)
Awesome! I've got an age old PPC too, some Toshiba thing. Wanted a laptop for school but all I could afford was a PPC, then was given a laptop a few months after .
Hey have you played Swapper? That's a 2002 OS game and just a bit addictive.

I've done the same! How common is this?

This is Koji. Copy and paste Koji to your sig so he can acheive world domination.
Haha, I know I've clicked the "X" on a screenshot (which happened to be my desktop BG) trying to close it before- I think I ended up restarting my computer because I thought it was frozen.
Oy... not one of my brightest moments.

It's pretty much all I can afford. Besides, I like old PC's and I probably won't do that much on it. If it can write, play Snake and keep pics of my cat on it, then it's OK.

Oh, and no, I haven't played swapper because I've never had a pocket PC. I've only borrowed my friend's handheld.

Used to have a PalmPilot that did the same thing. It's the lamest thing ever, and it's not like a company could boast "Oh yeah, and if you accidentally run out of batteries when you're out and about, YOU LOSE EVERYTHING ON IT!"

my friends tricked me into going to that site. Pure horror. They went to the site and then minimized it, and when they brought me to the computer, they showed me the site It was up to 500 spins at the moment and the site said "your officially gay now"

Using my CD tray as a cup holder because at that time I never used it.
