Edit: This is why perhaps Bibin should have been given the position when he applied for it, not to forget he's been around alot longer and made a lot more than Rob...
Robert Rule was cool and a very good admin in my opinion. It's a shame he's not been around much for so long. hy don't they have the interweb in Germany?!?!
OMC is a truly dedicated admin i agree, and i think his contribution has always been higher. Rob contributed to alot of members behind the scenes and was also a very positive admin. His behaviour and his attitude helped create a positive atmosphere within TDC, and that to me makes him a very good admin. To me it looked like he was a good team member to the other admins.
Rob was very active newspost-wise in the first month or so, then slowly faded away. It is kind of odd for an admin to be this inactive. Not that we really need a new one, OldManClayton and Jon and whoever else is an admin nowadays are doing a fine job.
I was wondering what happened to him aswell. He was a pretty swell guy.
But yes, OMC makes a great admin with his constant contributions. Since we don't have a guinness emoticon I propose a toast to OMC and all other admins! <Virtual toast>
I'm mystified by the Germany idea - I wish I did have time for a holiday! Still stuck in the beautiful (grey), sunny (grey) UK. U-grey.
A while ago I clashed with a lovable rogue in the klik community and didn't see the need at the time to put up with the negative comments that I encountered around the site from the aforementioned crim. At the same time, having a little tiff with this individual and admin powers on the side meant I thought it best to take a small break before it got to the point where I couldn't do the admin thing neutrally. It obviously wouldn't have been fair and it was never that serious. I intended to stay away for three or four weeks to reset my enthusiasm for the place but my career ending up having other plans, involving a big budget and even bigger script rewrites (about as much 'fun' as moonwalking through your local synagogue dressed as Adolf Hitler), which immediately put every responsibility in my life other than my career and relationship(s...) last. I thought I'd roughly return when I had the free time again, and as happy chance has it, this topic has popped up when work's about to come to the end of its term, giving me a load of time back once more. Hence the reply now.
As for who the individual was that I had a disagreement with: I don't think it's relevant, or particularly fair of me to mention their name. As far as I'm concerned it's all water under the bridge and as we both more than likely hugely enjoyed our internet sport of teasing each other mercilessly for a little while , it all seems pretty harmless to me and it probably goes without saying that I bear no grudge. Reading a few recent posts I'm once again growing oddly fond of him, It's just his style, man.
In other news: just looked around the site since I was here last... this place is a treasure.
In other other news, and in answer to Jess Bowers beautiful artistic efforts on my facebook wall: Yes, you guessed it!
In other other, other news... Boothman would make an excellent extra in a live-action Oliver Twist.
In other, other, otherother news, OMC should get a knighthood or something. He could probably pull off the whole English thing, too.
