Hey people, aint been here for like a week, but i been working hard on World Wrestling Quiz
and i just couldn't stop thinking..
What kind of games has been missing from MMF/TGF that we would all like to see or would like to make.
Below i've listed examples, first the last few days ive seen alot of games that people have made and got me thinking, anything 2d wise is possible.
I have listed below what kind of games i believe could really have a good impact on Click Products - Of course they will not be easy but they are not impossible..
Street Fighter - Snes
This kind of game has been attempted before and i must say i did play it and i was very impressed.
WWF Raw - Snes
I got myself thinkin. Why havent i seen a 2d wrestling game before here, is it 2 hard to make, i dont think so.
GTA
People dont like GTA and People love GTA - Me, i love GTA, Always have and have completed all gta 2 date, This is what everyone wants to make but are scared that they cannot finish this..
I think that GTA can be done, and with alot of hard work, everything can be originally created, Plus i have never seen this game and i would love to try andplay one someone has made, if there is one, when i finish my World Wrestling Quiz, i am looking to make a very big project, which should set the roof on fire, hopefully not mine!!
But i want your opinions, what is possible and impossible..
My Top 3
GTA - Still havent seen one
Street Fighter - Very good attempt
Wrestling, not sure if they are alot of wrestling fans here but trust me around the world there is..
I think the best would be fighting games. The best fighting game is probobaly Duel Toys that I've seen on here. Beatemups are not fighting games. I'm talking about One on One games like street fighter.
GTA games have been done before and I don't think they are the type of game thats ultra difficult to make. Fighting games, RPGs, MMOS, RTS and any 3d firstperson games are the most difficult (although extensions are coming out that help with the 3-d).
I wouldn't be bothering with a fighting game (esp. wrestling) for a few reasons:
* Fighting games (esp. wrestling) are a lot better in 3d than 2d (one of the very few genres where this is the case).
* Other software already exists, which is better suited to making fighting games (eg. Mugen).
* Drawing and animating decent fighter sprites is exceptionally difficult, and noone's interested in a game with ripped sprites.
A GTA-like game would be okay (provided it wasn't just a mere clone), but you need a decent car physics model (which would almost certainly require the use of a physics extension), AI for the traffic/police/pedestrians, a way of organising a large amount of data (missions, dialogue, etc) - all of which is difficult.
Personally, I'd like to see some turn-based strategy games - perhaps along the lines of Advance Wars. The only real difficulty there is the opponent AI.
For the most part though, if a genre hasn't been attempted, then there's usually a good reason why - it's probably a lot harder than it initially seems.
yes very true, but how would one know withought trying, yes wrestling games are better in 3d, plus i think the wrestling games from the days of the n64 - wrestlemania/no mercy(i paid 50 pounds ezch) but both were greatt, and the best wrestlers than the ones now.
I dont really follow it anymore that much,
Alot of games are not tried because they are hard, true but - no games are easy to make!
games in general are not easy to make, if you can make a game for example, the one im working on World Football Quiz, will come out next month, mos likely at the end of beginning of the month after.
Im guessing a game like mario with somethking like MMF/TGF ur looking at what, 3-6 months if you want it to be really good. All games which are good require hard work with sprites.
The way u do sprites it can be done for all other games, GTA will take longer but if everything is your own, no ripped graphics, good story, it will be good.
Street Fighter will be good in my opinion but a hard worked street fighter like, but your own, make some cool names, cool moves, specials for each star, put like 7-10 stars inside, spend alot of work on it and dont rush it. It will be done
90% OF THE people who dont document their games never finish them, you cant think as you are creating.
Everything on paper first makes everything 200% easier caus u know what you want in it.
I personally wouldnt mind having a go at a big project which i cud always work on and release it like a year or something on a very good game, and have a few smaller type games on the side.
Trust me anything is possible. You want to try to be a designer, go take a course, u will learn, u can learn urself, takes longer but someone who knows already thinks 100% quicker because they learned.
I tried to learn programming and i learned but not enough, theni went college, and it improved alot, now im in uni and im learning even more programming.
I will give it a try to work on a big project and im telling you guys, if i dont do it, someone will because its possible with the tools we have in our hand. Its a shame no one has made alot of money, well no onei know yet..
I still think that TDC arcade should have some REAL Arcade style games, how if the slots aren't all taken, you could join in on someone's game wherever they are at. (up to 16 players per game depending on the genre).
This would be especially fun for One on One Fighting games like Street Fighter / Mortal Kombat and Beat'em'Ups like King of Dragons and D&D Shadows over Mystara. Although it might be too popular and eat up bandwidth and the difficulty of making those kind of games would be significant, it would most certainly draw alot of good attention to the creators of such games with such a wonderful player system readily available online.
If any of you guys eventually use this idea, I'd appreciate a credit. It's something I've wanted to make myself for a long time but will probably never have all the required skill sets to do so.
Blood of the Ancient One, Seen only as Shadow, Faster than Lightning, Fierce as the Greatest Dragon, Nearly Invisible, Floating in a Dream, Entered through the Demon Door, Destroyer of Evil in a Realm with a Red Sky Scarred, Who could I be ?

I've seen people go for pinball games, RTSes, Gauntlet-style RPGs, etc. People applauded them for the work, but there were probably less players than praise. So seriously, do what you want to see. MMF2 has a lot of power, but it takes some work to get to that level of power.
Heh, I'd also like to make a dating game some day. I've got a lot of ideas that just aren't going to be finished because I'll never have the time to work on them. I'm working on a RPG, but there's still a lot more game design needed to pull it off.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
I had attempted many-a wrestling games a long time ago. The problem seemed to be bugs in TGF/MMF 1 at the time but I'm sure it's more than possible now.
