Okay, so apparently noone's interested in football here...
How about tennis? Everybody loves tennis, don't they?

Who do you think will win, or who would you like to see win?

Personally, I'm hoping anyone other than a Williams sister wins the ladies, but preferably Daniela Hantuchova or Caroline Wozniacki.
I'd also like to see someone other than Federer or Nadal win the mens - preferably Lleyton Hewitt or even Andy Roddick.

Tennis is nearly as annoying as football in terms of noise. Cant stand the sound of the ball being hit every couple of seconds, it's like listening to a dripping tap. I find it a more interesting sport than football, though.

Personally I think Tennis is the kind of sport that is fun to play but really boring to watch.

It's quite fun to play (I play it quite often), and it gets a bit more interesting to watch when you learn more about the game.

I agree with Johnny, I'd rather play Tennis than watch. Unfortunately, I don't like Tennis very much wither way, concerning every time I'm playing it, it's like 90+° outside, and I can't tolerate heat very well. And it's just too hard to sit still and watch.

But since I don't like seeing topics dragged down, I say GO, whoever you're rooting for!

I think almost all sports are more fun to play than watch - with the exception of really dangerous sports where you'd probably just die if you tried them

I also think Scott's comment (which I agree with), applies to most sports - you can't appreciate skillful play in any sport if you don't know what you're looking for - having played it yourself also gives you a better idea of how difficult some aspects of the game are.

I don't have a problem with the noise of balls being hit either - except for the female players who feel the need to fake an orgasm or make other off-putting noises every time they hit a forehand (eg. Serena Williams). It's one of those things, like diving etc in football, that really should have been stamped out before it ever got nearly this bad.

Unfortunately, the women's game has been ruined by the Williams sisters, Davenport, Sharapova, etc. It's now all about the big serve, and powerful baseline ground strokes, with virtually no finesse (it's a lot like watching bad male players). Henin is about the only woman who doesn't fit that stereotype, yet still has some chance of winning.

It used to be just the same in the men's game, but now you look at the elite players (Federer / Nadal) and they're so much more creative, and don't even serve especially hard.

Anyway, it's nice to see most of my favourites have gone through: Hantuchova, Wozniacki, Kirilenko, Hewitt and Roddick. Shame about Iveta Benesova though...

53 games all
It's starting to get just a little bit silly now...

In badminton, it becomes next-point-wins at 30-30, which seems more sensible.
Whoever wins this game now, they'll be too knackered to play well in their next game (which will be tomorrow).

Well, it's not entirely fair since the server is in the advantage.
I'm rooting for Isner now, but all he does now is move around like a slug and hold serve, so I don't think he's going to win

They could change the rules to force a tie-break at 20-20 or something, though.

I'm starting to think that if you can't break serve even once in 58 games, then you don't deserve to win - they should both lose, and their next round opponent get a bye. That would encourage them to make a bit more of an effort
No doubt other people will rave about how they're so fit and competitive and neither deserves to lose...
