Last night a show premeired on AMC(American Movie Channel I think) called The Walking Dead, and I gotta say, for a zombie tv show, I'm pretty impressed and anxiously awaiting the next episode. The show combined the classic zombie concept, with a thrilling story. Seriously, how many Zombie anythings actually have a good story?
So I wanted to know who else saw it and formed an opinion?

Oh wow! Thanks for letting me know it's aired! I was awaiting this show but had no idea it was actually out. It's based on a comic book series which is really awesome and is for once quite a realistic depiction of how many people would act in a zombie outbreak. It's the only comic book series I've ever actually read.
Signs was great - loved the way that that film wasn't too OTT with the scare-attempts, but just preyed on your fears (or just mine!?), like that home video shot of the alien in that garden.
Anyways, on topic - that looks quite good, though i fear that it's all been done before and at a faster pace. Surely the slower-pace of T.V. format with stagnate the show? And it's nice to see the Americans rip-off that "wake up alone in hospital" scene from the British-made 28 Days Later (great, great zombie film)
Yep, Signs worked by not showing you the aliens in great detail, until the end which ruined it really. But the shakey-cam home video, sounds of them on the roof, shadows of them under the pantry door made it creepy.

28 Days Later was great, but afterwards everyone had to have running zombies. Running zombies are fine, but not when everyone is doing it.

Sorry for the topic revival, but there's the first episode of season 2 on tonight at 9/8 central! I'm definitely excited! They're doing a marathon of all the previous episodes right now on AMC, it's definitely worth your time to watch! To me this show is just so great because it mixed a lot of dramatic and story driven moments with the classic zombie formula. I also don't consider it a zombie show as much as just a show about man kind in a desperate situation. I read a little bit about what this next season is about, and how the story went in the original comic book, gotta say, this 'Rise of the Governor' is looking pretty epic.

nice i agree. when i saw signs and that was ages ago it scared the living shit out of me. i know probably nowadays it comes off as lame and we are all older now and even when it was new a lot of people trash talked it but i thought it was really frightening and a good movie.
also as a kid x-files scared the crap out of me. well only the alien episodes and we used to have a lot of episodes of VHS (the ones you buy not taped from tv).
so as a kid i was super scared of aliens. nowadays im only afraid of people breaking into my house and stealing stuff while im still inside the house- given the fact i live in a rich neighbourhood and this already happened to my neighbours the chances of this going to happen arent even that slim- so yeh that scares the fuck out of me every night.
Also, to everyone who doesn't get AMC or to people who might have missed the episode last night, or to anyone who think it's not worth wasting their sunday night for, you can watch the full first episode of the season for free here-

Last night's episode was great. I've been iffy on the show since the start, but last night ramped things up a bit. Breaking bad has ruined most tv for me. It makes everything look subpar by comparison. Although Sons of Anarchy is on a roll this season. Tonight was incredible.
I wasn't so nuts about last ni-er weeks now! episode, not enough Zombie killing for me, too much drama. I like to have a good drama and action balance. But tonights episode I just watched was incredibly intense, especially with the whole flash back at the end of how shane escaped. It's really more of a psychological story I realize, but I still like to see a fair amount of zombie slaying if you get my drift.
