So just a general question, the viewership with the klikcasts have been declining per episode, so I am wondering if there is still a need for such a video show or if there is a particular reason people stopped watching? Anything we can do to change it or did it just had its time? Since it is very time consuming and hard sometimes to make each Episode special I just want to make sure if it is still worth to do or should we let this Bird fly away.
I always said I would make these as long as people are interested and I am still Amazed 20 Episodes were created but maybe it is just time to let it go?
Let me know your honest opinion and we shall go from there

I think you need to do more interviews and exclusive items. Correct me if Im wrong, but you don't seem to have picked up the phone and spoken to anyone recently? I say you should phone Marko ololol.
Thanks Adam for the comments! Actually the last 2 episodes did feature interviews with developers (not including Episode 20). And I agree phoning Marko would be awesome

I would be very sad to see the klikcast go. As Adam alluded to, I think the content that comes shrink-wrapped and ready for the show is just a bit thin.
It would be cool if we could get everyone involved in some way, but as you said, it's a lot of work.
I personally love Klikcast and am just about to get round to watching the latest episode (i usually watch everything later than everyone else, t.v. included, unless it's Formula 1!). I'll comment on improvement ideas after i watch it
EDIT: Just watched it; my thoughts on future episodes:
1. Invite more content from TDC users, noting especially the video format you want us to e-mail them to you in so you can edit them.
2. The competition feature at the end was a great idea. Next time, spend more time on this section or maybe even dedicate a whole episode to the entries after they've all been entered and use it to announce the winner(s)? Always going to be a ratings-winner there, i feel.
3. Maybe go one further by using Klikcast to start new compos?
4. At the mo, Klikcast seems to feature alot of content we've already seen. Whilst it's always desirable to see video of games on TDC, rather than relying on the pictures and descriptions in the Downloads/Projects pages, it would have more impact if it was of stuff not already front-paged, etc. I'm not sure how you could manage that, though it'd be a start to just pm the author of games that would normally get front-paged to let them know why it hasn't been yet, then reveal it in the Klikcast?
5. Ask the other admins to help - it appears to me that you do the majority of the work. Maybe certain admins have their own Klikcast sections, complete with "Videator" kayfabe-ness (look up "GamesWorld" for Videator and kayfabe meanings on Wiki)
Honestly, I don't watch it. I like reading stuff. Video/audio just doesn't appeal to me.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Id like to see the podcasts return. It was great fun to be a part of those; though I would have liked some more in depth discussion (Generating content, gaining exposure, etc. etc.)
Maybe in 2008 people were not posting their videos as much as they do now and there was more of a want for a video type of show but maybe that has passed.
Shab brings up a good point with the podcast. We could try that for a while with maybe a set cast of 3 folks and maybe a rotating clicker guest every week to keep things fresh?
If that would be the case I could make 1 final video klikcast as a proper goodbye to a very good 3 year run.
Ideas comments? You think a bi-weekly podcast would be a good idea to try out again?

Doesn't sound like a bad idea at all, though i will really miss the videos. How about making one-off Klikcasts for special occasions or something (compo-related or to re-cap entries/announce compo-winners, for example?)
I don't like admitting this because I love Klikcast, but it lacks variation between episodes. Possible new segments could be what Rikus' favorite game was out of, say, 3-5 recent ones, and/or a segment on which 3-5 recent games had the best art/music/sfx/animation/story/gameplay/etc.
That, or we could add more games to the arcade...! (Hint hint)
Oh no everyone has a different opinion, lol there is such a big grey area
I will think about it some more, I could continue the trend that was started in the most recent episode, were the episode is shorter, some reviews maybe a trailer and wrap that up in a package. It is really hard trying to get exclusive content even trailers. I shall ponder on it some more
Thanks for all the feedback btw

One thing I'm wondering is why the intro theme in the latest Klikcast was changed to that blippy 8-bit styled tune. The other one was better, in my opinion.
I like to toy with the intro every couple of Episodes, we had the other tune for such a long time, I tough it would give the intro some more freshness. Of course I have been wrong before
I think I am deciding on doing another regular small 10 min video episode before the big annual Christmas Episode, after that I can ponder on this whole klikcasty thing some more

It's great, but it's up to you if you want to continue with it. I enjoy watching each episode, but on the other hand, with a family and everything else, I honestly don't know how you find the time to make it. It must take a lot of time to record and edit. The audio podcasts were a great idea and I enjoyed listening to them. Personally I'd prefer to listen to those and have a video Klikcast once in a while with trailers and so on.
If you enjoy making the Klikcast as a creative project (rather than just a service to the community; a job) then keep going! It's a great show and you've gotten almost 300 views for the latest Klikcast episode. Most downloads on this site downloads are lucky to get over 50 so I'd say that it's still doing pretty well.
Thanks Nim! And good point, I do really enjoy making them but you are right it is finding the time, wich is almost impossible but that is a challenge in itself Maybe with a smaller runtime and some help from other community members it can be done on a regular basis

I've always enjoyed klikcast and I hope you continue the show. Many of the games I've looked forward to playing are because of the gameplay featured in klikcast. If the show changes to podcast I'll listen, but honestly those things put me to sleep. Other than that I'd like to say thank you for 26 great episodes and Happy Holidays!
I think who ever does those click casts should like join some church singing group and do some voice training or something, and or probably get a decent microphone, cause he sounds like a gerbil on fire speaking through his nose. That's one of the reasons i don't watch clickcast.
The other reason is that i don't like serius stuff, if it were more funny, and not just about some obvius facts of the game we can anyhow see in the video, and more edited i might watch it.
I know that most people are suggesting making the klikcast shorter but i think including new feautres would freshen things up a bit. I suggested a quick tutorial section a month or so back and i still think that this would be a good idea. You could start out with the basics such as creating a custom platform movement and then make sprawling tutorials on larger engines.
As i suggested previously these could be created by the more experienced members of the community and sent to you.
I tried to make a simple introductory tutorial the other day for something else that could have been used on the Klikcast... but Fraps was such a pain that it didn't pan out.
Thanks for the ideas guys, and Lembi I have tried the emailing certain people before to do a introduction tutorial nobody wanted to even try it, some said it would make for a boring segment and just refused. The thing is as OMC can account for with "The App", it can be hard sometimes to get content from people and it can be hard to get someone to submit content even after people agree to do something to actually get it unless you stalk them as I often do until they either give it or say no For every trailer or piece of original content you see in a klikcast a lot of refusal, begging, and annoying people until they send you something went before it It can be very tough sometimes. On the other hand I also noticed a lot of people can be very cool about saying they always wanted to be on the klikcast and you get a original trailer within the same day. So yea you win some battles you loose some. Depends on the person
I have decided to continue on with the next klikcast with a 15 min or less Episode. Already got a for now -secret- interview with a author in the bag and working on the reviews now If you liked the previous Episode you will enjoy this one

If that would be the case I could make 1 final video klikcast as a proper goodbye to a very good 3 year run.
I beleive that if that is the case, at least make one every year and make it special.
But, the decline in viewers could be relavent to the decline in activity around the community. I seem notice a lot of 'Where is everyone?!?!?!' 'What's happening here?!?!' and 'OMG! TEH COMMUNITY IS DIENG! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!', aka click apocalypse threads...
Hay there, not sure if it's too late but I would like to see more interviews. But use a chat program like Skype or ustream or something. The phone is too expensive.

I'd be up for it, but I'd have to get the right setup going. It would be my first foray into such things, so I'd have to do a bit of research so it didn't sound awful like most skype based podcasts do.
I think they should return in some manner or form. I do not have a problem with podcasts, but it does make it somewhat hard to evisage what the game is like!
I see no problem with example footage with over dubbed audio to be honest.
Klik cast is about the only thing I look forward to on the Daily click these days so I'd be sad to see it go.
I think the show would benefit with more animation like the Christmas opening in episode 23, it definitely stands out. You should have a tiny section dedicated to amateur game makers (like a minute or so) as this attracts new users to the site and generates interest in the video's. What about alittle tutorial section on how to do something simple on MMF2 each episode also? And maybe have an archive section dedicated to Click classic's?
Just want to say Rikus that Klick cast is some of your best work, and your a credit to Click team! I only bought TGF2 & MMF2 because of the daily click, I hope Click team still make donations to the site!
Its taking longer than I would like to be honest but I'm still committed to it I just need special quiet time, something which I haven't been getting a lot of lately
