(I added the black on the side so I could easily see where each line starts)
In case anyone wonders how to do it, first save your image as a RAW file. If it's a colour image make sure to use planar and not interleaved colour. Also remember your image's dimensions.
Now import your saved RAW file in Audacity, 8-bit unsigned mono. Save it as an MP3, then open the MP3 and save it as a RAW 8-bit unsigned mono.
Now open the newly saved RAW file. When saving as an MP3 additional silence is added at the start, so you add a header size (for me it was 1105), you also have to enter your image's dimensions and whether it's colour or not.
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -
To satisfy my curiousity/boredom I did the same thing except using the NeroAAC compressor (at a bitrate as low as 25 kbit/second! meaning it uses spectral band replication, which I was particularly interested in how it would affect the picture)
(yes it's jpeg compressed but the difference is pretty minimal, mainly the colors being a bit muted)

i still dont get your guide on how to do it. what program do i use for opening the raw and where do i enter the size of the picture and WHAT?! your guide sucks so far.
