So what games do you have and what do you think of them? While the 3d in ridge racer is cool I don't think it looks any better than the PSP version of ridge racer. Also I think they ripped off asphalt with cars coming at you now. Also asphalt on my phone looks better than ridge racer on the 3ds.
I still don't like the idea of having two screens. I find it to be a bit useless and I never look at it anyways. I only focus on the main screen where the action is.
What I really enjoyed where the cards and the fact it would put my surrounding on a mesh and distorted it. Also the fact I had to walk around the card to shoot the targets was pretty bad ass.

Isn't that the point for most games? Most of the time your menu/stats are displayed on the screen you use the least. It allows for more dynamic menu systems where you don't have to pause the game and can perform more actions on the fly.

I'd take the "slow" pause screen over a higher resolution screen (that can fit stats on it more comfortably) over a second battery draining screen. Only reason I want a DS is for the exclusives. I've used a DS and the only game I find that truly utilizes the screen in a manner that would be heavily inefficient to play without, is Phoenix Wright. Otherwise, you'd have to be pretty artistically impaired not to know how to make use of screen-space in a way that's both visually pleasing and functionally efficient. Especially if you made the pixel density a lot higher so that the menus aren't a huge waste of space just to be legible.
I play my 3DS in tons of places. Work on break, over at a friends house (after watching him play face raiders), the toilet, the living room (while kiddos are asleep).
I simply do not have the time/inclination to sit down and play a console game. The only HDTV we have is in the bedroom, and the only time I'd be able to use it is when the kids are asleep. Being a busy parent, it's hard to find time to sit down and play a game for more than 15 minutes. That's great for something like the DS/3DS/PSP, close the lid and pick it up later.
When my kids are older, I'm sure I'll get back into the consoles; but the 360 and PS3 are pretty much dead for me. I see tons of games I'd love to play (3D Dot Games Heroes, New Vegas, others I can't remember because I've worked 28 hours in the last 2 days), but it's pretty much impossible for me.
On another note; I can't wait for a Castlevania game on this thing. Order of Ecclesia was a fantastic game. Brought back memories of playing Circle of the Moon on my import GBA.
Back on topic. I think my friend might like a 3DS, so I might buy her one for Christmas. She says she isn't a huge gamer, but she seemed to be a bit interested in the DS, so I think she may enjoy it.
I didn't particularly enjoy what I played of Cave Story either.
I wonder when they plan to enable 3DSWare and Netflix and video recording and the internet browser. My computer is overheating right now so I can't watch Netflix stuff on it. It'd be nice to be able to on my 3DS.
I wouldn't say that... Adam didn't like the game but it doesn't mean his opinion doesn't count if the general reviews say it's a good game
Anyhow, I'm going to wait for a few months and see what comes out. Animal Crossing 3DS, PilotWings and Zelda: Ocarina of Time all appeal to me, but right now not a lot else does.
