Hello, developers. My name is Andrew Riley, composer and sound designer for Lucky Lion Studios - http://LuckyLionStudios.com , a newly launched game audio service.
As a special promotion for the studio's launch, each song in the library is currently just $5.
If you're looking for custom music or sound design, I can work with most styles - just fill out the website's custom audio form and I'll get back to you with an estimate.
I can answer any additional questions here or through the contact form on my website. Thanks!
If I wasn't broke at the moment I'd purchase a few of these for sure. If I had money to blow I'd snag them all at $5, aha. I love the simplicity and straightforwardness of your agreements.
I'll definitely bookmark your site for future reference. Thanks
My game would need about 10 songs to have an all original sound track.
01. intro
02. forest
03. desert
04. snow
05. cave
06. boss
07. secret level
08. slopes
09. achievement screen
10. last master
How much would something like this cost?
Generally speaking, for those wondering about custom audio costs, the rates vary depending on song length and the license type you require (exclusive vs. non-exclusive). Exclusive songs are more expensive (though still reasonable), since the ability to resell music is what helps me to keep the prices so low in my library. It's also good to let me know if you have a specific budget you need to work within so I can try my best to accommodate you.
The game I'm working on currently is pretty short and not as polished as I'd like. Right now I'm hoping with practice and Photoshop I can develope games worthy of purchase. When that time comes I'll definitely keep LuckyLionStudios in mind.
For the songs that require MIDI, I use Sibelius, Finale or another sheet music notation program.
For digital instruments, I use a variety of VSTi's such as EastWest Quantum Leap Colossus, LA Scoring Strings and many others.
I then use ProTools to record, mix and master each song. It's a fairly long process, and most of the software/hardware is expensive, but there are always much cheaper alternatives that can still produce good results.
To be honest, I'd be searching for something exactly like this in maybe 6 months to a year. I'm working on a fairly large scope indie project, and I've taken to doing virtually everything myself, and I was afraid I'd have to look into learning better music writing skills once it gets to that point. But I'll keep an eye on this
@ Zethell - I've actually been getting a lot of requests for 8-bit music. I do have some more SNES style RPG songs in the library, but I'm definitely going to be adding more retro tracks in general. I'm hoping to get at least two retro tracks into the next update.
Also, the library is now 75 songs strong with the addition of Hollow, Kindred, Kite Strings, Tempest and Unlikely Places.
The library has been updated to 85 original compositions!
The latest five:
Calco Caelum: a fun, adventurous orchestral track
Valor: an action/battle theme
Bring the Fire: an upbeat electronic track
No Worries: a cute, jazzy track
Anouk: a simple guitar and bass track suitable for location or background music
The library has been updated to 110 tracks, each still available for $5 each.
The latest songs:
Osiria, Victory And Defeat, The Coffee Bean Incident, Lazu, Fragments
Victory And Defeat is actually four short tracks. Two victory songs (a short and extended version of the same piece) and two defeat / game over (again, one short and one extended version).
I'll definately bookmark this. I have upcoming projects too.
( "definately" <----why is "word corrector" saying this is not written right, definitely sounds stupid.)
This is great! i got lots of money for Christmas, and i think i can guarantee a sale!
Ok, Im definitely buying some, but i'm going to wait until a release a dev version of my game.
