I'm going to assume that since a pentagram is merely a five pointed shape in geometry, that you're actually referring to the pentacle.
So are you're suggesting the pentacle is a Halloween symbol? It's not. So no, they shouldn't. Just because it's incorrectly associated as a satanic symbol doesn't mean it is. It's only connection to Halloween is that Halloween is vaguely related to Samhain, which is generally associated with, in this case, paganism or perhaps more appropriately, neo-paganism.
The pentacle, along with the triquetra and the triple moon symbols, though not exclusive to paganism, neo-paganism, or wicca, do hold strong meaning similarly to the cross. An upside down pentagram can be associated with satanism, but all due respect, please don't get the two mixed up. It can be offensive.
Perhaps, but the same would have happened had someone said we used the cross or star of david as a symbol of Halloween; so I stand by my defense.
Anyway, as I mentioned twice in this post already. I love the new Halloween theme. I hope we can expect to see this level of work and polish in the winter holidays theme too.
