Hi guys, got an issue with a game I'm working on, the issue is that when I'm near the edge of the play area the movement of the player can get rather erratic. I'm trying to work out a solution but I would like to see other people opinion before I try to mess with the code too much...
Below is the example:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/70571329/Easter%20Fever%20DEMO%20WIP.exe
File size: 5.96 MB
I will link to the MFA which is zipped, be warned that once extracted it becomes about 80MB.

File size: 5.05 MB
Any help on this one would make me a happy bunny. Pun intended.
(You'll get the pun when you load it)

Hi Road Kill,
Just wanted to say that the game is really done nicely - it is obvious you are much better than I at this. From that perspective: The only irratic movement I can see is when you walk to the left and you are on a curved edge. If left, up-lef and down-left touch the active it tends to go up and down as it cycles through the loops. Hopefully that is the erratic movement you talk about - I had to set the timer to 200 sec to test it...lol
If you add some more conditions to the overlapping of the arrows it works fine for me. Not sure why I only get this to the left and not the right. So if I have a condition that says: If left-up,left-down and left overlaps the active, push it to the right, it kind of works for me.
Chances are I am totally wrong about everything, but that is my 2 cents if worth anything.
Good luck!

Hi Avantar1975,
Thanks for the reply and for trying it out, I did actually think about doing what you mentioned and I did try for left and right but I wasn't really satisfied with the results, perhaps it's something I'm just missing.
I have been thinking if I adjusted the edge so that they are more curved perhaps that would fix a bit of the issues.
I'm not all that good at this stuff to be completely honest and I always thought I was doing everything a bit clunky and incorrect.
Anyway I'll get round to completely setup what you mentioned and see if it improves.
If anyone else has anymore suggestions or ideas I'd be more than happy to listen to them and would greatly appreciate them.
EDIT: I've lowered the amount of pixels in half and is works well now. there is a bit of inconsistency some times but once I polish up all the jagged land it should work really well.
