Not hopeful on this one

BUT

Is it possible to rotate the point of view/display in MMF2?

Effectively moving all objects, incl backdrops, around a pivot

If you're using HWA, you can just apply a rotate effect to a layer.
Otherwise you'd have to replace all your backdrops with actives, and then individually move and rotate those - but without HWA, that's likely to be pretty slow, and it makes coding other things really difficult.

To use HWA, all you need to do is select "DirectX 9" as the display mode - that will greatly improve performance, and will allow you to use pixel shaders (only when exporting a windows .exe).
Then you just need to download an MMF2 pixel shader file for rotation (google it - I know there's one out there), select your layer and set its effect property to that shader.

Hmm...Anyone know if that HWA stuff works for the Flash exporter?

In my case, alpha channels haven't been used.

(I'm away from home at the moment, else I would try it now).

I'm almost certain it doesn't.
btw: I have seen your PM and will get back to you with an answer - it might be a bit complicated, so I'll need to sit down and play at it for a while. Just a bit tired and busy watching the tennis right now.

There is a shader extension for flash that allows you to rotate the display and scale it. I've used it before, but just the scaling portion of it.
