i am sorry...i do have a story line...also, where can i download sounds etc for my game? like gunshots, screams and stuff...and is any1 here quite good at making midis?
Whoa, sorry to throw off your topic. I think a good plot for your game would be where your in the FBI and you chase after suspected criminals. Wouldn't be too hard to script, since its your first. First well... full production.
i allready have a good plot thanx...
but i am now looking for sounds of gunshots, screams etc....also, i need sum1 to tell me a really good midimaker i can download
no no no...okay...is there a WEBSIATE that i can goto to DOWNLOAD gunshots and creams and carbrakes etc....and now a seperate question...where can i download a good midimaker?
Today is your lucky day i just had music today and my music teacher told the class to download these heres the ones:
--------------------------------------
Notepad
Sibelius (7 day trial)
Finale (7 day trial)
Noteworthy (Best freeware one, no time period)
--------------------------------------
thats all i can remember, i shoved it in my locker at the end of the day so theres probably a bit more on there.
cool...i might get the free one with no timne period...also, where can i download sounds etc??? hmm...who likes the idea of this game...
okay...u are in a corrupt city where crime rules. even the cops are bad...the city gang ( idont have a name for you or the gang yet) have taken your son and are threatening to kill him if you dont cough up 5 hundred G's. your blood boils when you hear this and he is off to search for his son..you must let no1 in your way...there will be the gang leaders thugs, dirt whores, badass cops etc to pass through. you must travel the streets in search for your son....
who likes??? and how can i improve the storyline (plot)?
Want to make the perfect game? Here's a link to an article I wrote for the Ultimate game, mind you, not for noobs, but you seem enthusiastic:
http://www.create-games.com/article.asp?id=373
Of course, that article has several mistakes I made a while ago, especially the part about everyone thinking that I'm stressing on storyline. I'm planning to write a revised version of the article (this time I'll actually read it over) but so far, every time I've attempted, the damn browser seems to crash >:/.
So, till my new article on making the Ultimate Game comes out, here's a few more tips I'll add:
1. Never attempt to make a perfect game on your first attempt. Especially not with MMF. If you're even gonna try, rip lots of graphics and do virtually no work except putting it all together. Example: Laxius Power.
2. A perfect game has lots of character interactions. That is, your characters are actually 'living', they're not just a bunch of stats or walking turrets.
3. Graphics are important but what's most important is that the player loses sense of everything around him/her. That is, make them so involved in the game, they'll never want to rip themselves away from it. It becomes... an addiction.
4. If you actually plan to ever finish this perfect game of yours, DON'T DO IT ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT. Part of perfecting yourself is making mistakes. Do the simplest form possible of the game, probably an engine or something, then build up from it with each new version you make. Learn from your old mistakes and fix em.
5. Don't even try it with KNP or TGF. The 256 active object limit hurts.
If you want some sounds, sprites, etc... just do a search on Google for it. Type gunshot sounds, and search . If not, there's always Yahoo.
Personally, I fell into the 'I wanna make the perfect game' trap when I was younger. I'm still stuck in it, but at least I'm climbing out.
