Recently I was going through some old MMF2 folders and came across an unfinished, abandoned attempt at making a zoomable 'camera' using the Viewport object by Anders Riggelsen. I found an old thread I'd made here on TDC asking for help/advice on the topic and decided to have a quick go at coming up with something.

So in response to a thread I made 4 YEARS AGO http://www.create-games.com/forum_post.asp?id=260541&show=all and anyone else looking for a similar effect, I offer this example:

Here is the result: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0ByX4mYfGvtT6RUtwclBsR2VyRXc/edit?pli=1
You can get the Viewport object here: http://www.andersriggelsen.dk/mmf2_extensions.php

It is by no means complete and doesn't utilize all the features of the Viewport object, but hopefully is a starting point for people to build upon.

Suggestions/improvements always welcome! And I'd be interested to see what kind of uses anyone got out of this, if any!

I wish the MMF runtime supported zooming the layers individually. Now that could allow for some pretty cool 3d effects.
