...then what will happen to all those old answers you can use the Search DC button for? I know that deleting old topics saves space, but it also gets rid of good answers and makes the Search DC button less useful.

most people don't use the search button anyway, so i think it's worth the space

Shadowcaster should get someone to look at all the post he is removing, so they can scan through and see if there is anything useful in them, like examples, etc. etc.

The things worth saving should be placed somewhere else than the boards (like article).
And its not at all everything thats written that deserves to be saved.
Who reads old topics anyway???
If you knew, I would have to kill you...

I didn't say everything was useful, but I have found some good info on fast loops and such in the old posts

People are more likely to get answers from articles, so i say delete old topics.

yes, but some of the stuff that's in the forum are not in the articles, which sucks if it gets deleted, because thats more knowledge lost. I know there's a BUNCH of crap on this board, but I'm not a great fan of losing knowledge.

I'm talking, of course, about just removing the good information, and then blasting the topic to hell.

No one uses the Search DC button
I've used it several times. The only person who could probably count the number of times it was used is ShadowCaster.
Who reads old topics anyway???
See "Juggy Skating" and "Are there any female clickers out there". Those were both months old.

If they keep on getting deleted, when will we know when the misc board gets 10,000 posts?

Most of the good coding stuff you'd be able to find on Clickteam, or many of which are articles.
Some good coding hints and tips should really be made into articles if you want them to last and be noticed and recognised.

The database was getting way to large... the larger the size, the more processing required by the server every time someone accesses it, and the slower DC's going to load (not to mention the greater chance of DC going down like what happened A LOT with our old server, and our database wasnt even as large then as it is now, obviously).
People use the search feature, I often see "search" come up in the Active Users page. Pretty soon there'll be a Knowledge Base for all that sort of information, though... it's called the FPG

Yeah just delete the old topics. They don't have time to go searching thru posts all day to find which ones are good.
