i sometimes post stupid stuff i find on MISC forums.
here is something matrix fans might like have a look:
http://abstract.cs.washington.edu/~renacer/ascii-matrix.html.gz
My Comment: I believe that the computer hased used a program over the film to do this. because i person typing this is impossible. The background and everything is just too perfect matching to the film to be typed in

Agreed. I think a computer program analyzed every picture of the movie and then translated the brightness of every pixel to a letter. Each letter used is assigned a brightness value.
If you knew, I would have to kill you...

While on the subject of ascii images, I made a quick program that converts picture files (jpegs, bmps, pngs, possibly more types) to ascii pictures. You can download it here: http://nimble.icetec.net/?page=4&listid=22 .

I mean, "Holy crap!" I love the matrix, and while that was playing ~ i just imagined the sound. It's an exact replica, so it must of been converted.

Hey Erik, your program is good. But maybe a little slow! It took ages to convert a tiny picture of my friend, and when it was finished she was blown up huge! But your program still rox!

Yeah, that's because each character is equal to one pixel, I was thinking of adding a resize option so you could automaticly have it made smaller so it worked faster and the image was closer to the proper size.

Hey Erik, neat program, but it seems to have some performance issues..
It started fast, doing 1/5 the bar in about 3 seconds, then slowly slowed down. After about 9 min it was done.

Yeah I noticed that with larger pictures, it was due to the string getting really big. Modifying strings is pretty slow, and modifying big strings is even slower, so now I made it split the strings in an array and it runs fast all the way through. The new version is available at the same address. It seems a lot faster for everything now as well, I guess that was one of the main reasons it was so slow.
