I tried using Maya, but it seems that my comp can't handle it. So I'm stuck with 3DSM 5. It may not be the best in the world, but animating with 3DSM 5 is sure a lot easier tha The one on Kazaa ain't only illegal, chances are the stuff you steal off it could be a trojan planned to send info on your comp outside. After all, most of the pirated stuff are cracked, what's to stop them from putting in a little trojan?
Get some friends or family in high places. Then you can get your own copy of 3D Studio Max AND Maya and even Adobe Photoshop for absolutely free. Too bad they won't sponsor me with MMF 1.5, but that might probably change by next year.
