J/k by the way. I don't want him showing up at my door with a machette or something (That would tend to suck, unless he's like 2ft tall... I'd better shut up befor I start ranting again.)
There said it now, so don't laugh. I got the Norman part from my late grandad who fought in the war in places like Sudan, Egypt and Italy. He also ran a shop in Rochdale, selling newspapers and the like. There my Dad was brought up (with his late twin Bill), and then afetr a bit he had me. And decided to give Norman as my middle.
It doesn't sound any cooler when I explain it, but never mind.
P.S - Jon:
'Ryo
Ryu
Ryoko
Chen
zung
xian
wong
kai
chai'
Aren't the names Xian, Wong, Chai and Zung Chinese names? And there's you, banging on about 'oh and don't say it was a simple mistake, any jap student damn well knows that KO goes at the end of the name, if you do not use it is considered a form of disrespect!'
When you are there yourself, calling them Japs... it just seems a bit out of place. From my experience (mainly Japanese RPG end credits) most first names seem to have more than 1 syllable, and sound like car names. And both our Japanese teachers at school have had names with both words containing 2-3 syllables.
The only one I can remember though was Yukiko Yamada, and she taught me this...
ichi
nee
san
shi
go
roku
nana
hachi
qui
ji!
I think this thread (or is it just the sober people?) is weird
"If Darl McBride was in charge, he'd probably make marriage unconstitutional too, since clearly it de-emphasizes the commercial nature of normal human interaction, and probably is a major impediment to the commercial growth of prostitution."
-- Linus Torvalds, December 5th 2003.
(Darl McBride is CEO of The SCO Group)
this place sucks but don't tell anyone, it's our little secret, ok?
