bleh, they can spy all they want, i don't care. anyway, it's a bit rich for people who are commiting a crime (downloading copyrighted material) to complain about spyware.
and don't say your not, because you are.

KaZaA Lite is illegal. (Yeah, I use it, but that's not the point. And don't tell me you weren't going to download music with it!)

Kazaa lite is great. You get all the good things about Kazaa, (downloading music and software for free etc.) with less hassle and crap that you don't need. It's also about 8mb compared with Kazaa's sixty odd.

Chris, the software itself isn't illegal, however it can be used for illegal purposes. I openly admit to downloading music. I'm not about to shell out $18 for a CD just so some record exec can get rich, while the artist gets maybe $3 (at best). Music is so commercialized and record companies are so corrupt these days. When execs stop shamelessly robbing artists of their hard-earned money, and stop spending money on advertising and music videos, then I might buy a CD, but until then I want no part of it. I know I'm probably sounding pretty hypocritical right now talking about paying for CDs because artists are being robbed, but if the artist is only going to get $3 out of the deal, than why should I have to pay more than $10 max for a CD?

No, KaZaA Lite is actually illegal because it is a modified version of ordinary KaZaA.

we all know there's spyware everywhere (unless you know how to keep the box clean)
and there's no point in discussing KaZaA's legalness either, because its all up to you if you wanna do illegal stuff with it (like making an illegaly modified copy of it)

I don't think anyone gives a crap if it's illegal or not. People will use it even if it is illegal.
