"Say you're hanging from a huge cliff at the top of mt. everest and a guy comes along and says he'll save you, and proceeds to throw religious pamphlets at you while simultaniously giving a sermon." - Dustin G

Cool, I thought I was the only person who liked Dimmu Borgir, The Bezerker and Cannibal Corpse, as well as System and Slipknot, and old Marilyn Manson. Not too keen on the new stuff.
-Guns N' Roses
-Black Sabbath
-Led Zeppelin
-Tool
-Metallica
-The Red Hot Chili Peppers
-Bush (Mainly just Sixteen Stone... I don't like any of their other albums much)
-Audioslave
-Rage Against The Machine
-Soundgarden
-Pink Flloyd
-Queens of the Stoneage (That twisted humor is great)
-*A few* of Third Eye Blind's songs, expecially "Jumper"
-AFI. Sing the Sorrow is a flawless album.
-Eminem (Cause he's funny)
-50 Cent (Cause those beats are wicked)
Hey, AntiMatter, have you heard Nile's "Unas, Slayer of the Gods?" I think it's just hilarious how they switch from intro so abruptly. I'm not a big fan, but they're local. I see 'em around every now and then when I go to get my guitar restrung and such. Their guitarist is so insanely awesome.

"Say you're hanging from a huge cliff at the top of mt. everest and a guy comes along and says he'll save you, and proceeds to throw religious pamphlets at you while simultaniously giving a sermon." - Dustin G
Nirvana,
The Beatles,
The Smiths,
Blondie,
Depeche Mode,
A-Ha,
Pearl Jam, Soundgarden (none of this audioslave bollox)
Black Flag
Eyes Adrift (not bad)
manics (old stuff)
Most classical music NOT opera
Am I the only one not into thumping guitars??? Anyhoo...
-Sheryl Crow (can't get "Picture" with Kid Rock out of my head lately)
-Aimee Mann
-David Gray
-Dido
-Many and varied game and movie soundtracks and composers, like Howard Shore for the LotR trilogy (keenly awaiting the final soundtrack) and Harry Gregson Williams for MGS2: Sons of Liberty
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0
The LOTR soundtrack is wicked. David Gray is OK too, but I'm not sure about Dido. Her music is a little too wishy-washy. Doesn't really make any kind of lasting impact.
Incubus
AFI
Metallica

The Velvet Underground <== good stuff kids

I wonder if there's a classification for these kinds of odd...people.
Here's what I listen too, compared to some of you it's not oustanding.
Kill Bill Soundtrack
Marilyn Manson (Older Songs)
Rage against the machine
System of a down
Happy campers
Blink 182 (Older Songs)
Beastie Boys
Rammstein
Adema
Can't remember anything right now, oh yeah. Fuck Ska it can Die =P
I have a hard time beliving those that listed 20+ bands can call themsleves real fans to all those they listed. It's all good if you like a song by the Offspring, but I can't say I care for all thier stuff, so why list?
Only a few bands I saw deserve to be listed on this thread at all, but only one deserves to be recognized. METALLICA. Everything else is crap.
Death in the air
Strapped in the electric chair
This can't be happening to me
Who made you God to say
"I'll take your life from you!!"
hm... revised list. these are the only bands who i actually like more than 5 songs by:
-guns n' roses (they really influenced loads of bands today... ex, variations of the intro to "knockin' on heaven's door" is pretty much all that creed plays)
-black sabbath (the kings of modern rock)
-godsmack (who are probably my favorite newer band)
-rage against the machine (because they really helped breathe new life into the completely boring 90s rock scene)
-led zeppelin (the originators of the power ballad, probably the most imitated band ever. you can't get better than zep)
-pink flloyd (1 billion people can't be wrong. dark side of the moon owns)
-red hot chili peppers (they seem to break new ground with every song)
-pearl jam (who single-handedly paved the way for an alt. rock explosion)
metallica's okay... but that whole thrash scene just seems so tired. i like something that doesn't exist for the sole purpose of making my head hurt.
"The light which puts out our eyes is darkness to us."
-Henry David Thoreau
I agree with pretty much everything you have said Nytrom...apart from maybe the Godsmack...never heard much of them...
I think Metallica should be better known for their epics like Fade To Black, One, Master Of Puppets and Nothing Else Matter...etc... rather than the thrash metal part. That what makes them pretty much the best metal band ever IMO. You need a bit of variation. Not just in your albums but in the structure of your songs. System Of A Down are another good metal band that do that in my recent times. They're great too!
MUGGUS
Come and annoy me more at
www.muggus69.tk STOUT ANGER!!!
the ones in my Win AMP mix are:
ApologetiX
Toby Mac
Linkin Park(only In the End, mostly sence I haven't heard the rest of their songs )
Lots of Game Music RemixZ(Lemmingz R0XX0RZ!!)
fine, laugh..
but... Rap is NOT music, rap is mixing words and curse together and shouting. So in the end, Rap = crap = notevenclosetomusic = more crap
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Finger Eleven (no one has ever heard of them)
Funeral For A Friend
Less Than Jake
Linkin Park
The Get Up Kids
Blink 182
Electric Six (I've got the album )
Feeder
Nine Inch Nails
Nirvana
Drowning Pool
Disturbed
Radiohead
Rancid
Reel Big Fish
Third Eye Blind
So rock/punk/emo/metal
I have a website!
http://www.funkyseaweed.tk btw its not about games at the moment, but visit it if you want to...
a fire inside's best cd (to me) has to be black sails in the sunset or the art of drowning.
it's shut your mouth and open your eyes, not close
I guess sing the sorrow isn't bad... the lyrics are still afi,
but the sound is way different..
and yeah. blink 182 is corperate rock... it's NOT PUNK...
