I've noticed how the "shoot object" command can only shoot bullets at a maximum speed of 100. Is there any way to make this faster? Considering some games, 100 it too slow. I've tried messing around with the "fast loop" extension but to no avail. Has anyone found a way to overcome this problem? I've been stuck on this for about 2 days now. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It depends if you have backgrounds that can block the bullets. If not, use the x/y positions to test if the shot hits instantly. Otherwise, maybe try very large (or long, rather) invisible bullets moving at 100.

Yeah I've tried both of them. Unfortunately I do have obstacles that'll block the bullets.

well, it skips 5 pixels but if you want to, you can copy
the event like 10 times and change the bullets position
only by x:1 y:0 per event

I thought of a very interesting (and complex) method last night that doesn't necessarily need fastloop. I'll test it out and post an article.

If you use FastLoop in TGF (or not in MMF) u can speed up bullets a lot. Link to example in TGF: http://www.republika.pl/nuke_soft/shooting.zip

You can create a custom shoot engine, or if you only plan on your bullets going one direction (right for example) then you can add the code:
always - bullet.x = bullet.x + 5
where 5 is, is the extra speed.

The events in MMF/TGF take about 0.02 seconds to run, which people have always thought is very slow.
So, the 'fastloop' was invented. This runs any events with the 'on loop' condition, and it keeps running them again and again and again. You can start a loop from the actions in the 'special' object (it's put in your MMF frame the moment you start). You assign each loop a name and a number of loops to do.
Then, you insert the 'on loop' condition, again from the 'special conditions' object, and type in the name of the loop (such as 'move'). You can name a loop anything you want.
