Okay I use windows. But I have an old Macintosh in my room, it has many, many great classic mac games. I believe some day all other OS will be obliviated.
Umm, actually there is a problem with monopoly. You can price things however you want meaning if theres no one to compete in prices with, you could be paying money to use Google in the future.
Nothing wrong with a monopoly. Good for them, I say.
Except a lack of competition, allowing them to continue to charge insane prices and raise them should they see fit.
Of course you might say that having a monopoly discourages the need for the corporation to improve their system, but I dont think that's the case. After all, if there wasnt any updates in each new release of Windows, then people would stop buying it, and that means no more money for them.
Yet, if Microsoft truely did hold the monopoly, where do you suggest users would migrate to? Linux, Mac? Wouldn't be here...
I mean, everyone here chose Windows (which costs money) over Linux (which is free), didnt we?
Nope. Sure I use XP, but I also use Mandrake Linux 9. Instead of VC I use Java, and .NET to a much lesser degree. I intend to add Solaris to my machine when I get my new system.
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0
i have switched to linux so i can say whatever i want about Microsoft
well, i still have windows, but hardly ever use it (when all else fails)
and SC, if you can do more with Windows than linux, it's your problem
(AND, how could linux ever have customer support? there are no customers, there's just a big community of users)

this place sucks but don't tell anyone, it's our little secret, ok?
they used it in the first one too (or atleast 'Neo' did)
when he gets the weird message on his comp notice how he instantly reaches for CTRL-X

"I don't think microsoft could possibly censor google any worse than the us government did."
What are you talking about? Sounds like some conspiracy theory to me.
But anyway, Microsoft is a monopoly, according to the courts, so you can't really debate that. Until Linux makes a serious effort at becoming easier to use it will never succeed in the home market. It can't go mainstream in its current state since it is to hard to use for the average computer user.
99 percent chance that the above post is 100 percent correct.
the 'average computer user' is not willing to learn anything about a computer thanks to microsoft

that's true aali, but it means computers can become an integral part of life. ask someone to type a letter on a comp, and pretty much everyone can do it. and maybe if it weren't for microsoft, they wouldn't be able to.
if you can't type a letter in linux, you're either really demented, or your linux box is incorrectly set up
no way it's harder in linux nowadays, with the OpenOffice suite (included in all red hat distros nowadays) i'd say it's easier
(and then, linux would prevent others from reading that letter, if it'd happen to be private )

Also most of us use Microsoft because that's the only platform that supports klik games (excluding K&P for Mac).
I like Windows more than Linux, though.
