I don't like aoe2 that much...mostly because it doesn't have the formation stuff in it, so your units go astray and get all scattered and that's really frustrating...i like aom much more ...that's awesome
Ugh... AoE 2 and WC3... two of the games I hate playing online the most. AoE 2 has this problem where everyone hides behind walls and gates if you don't rush early. WC3 has the the whole advantage thing when you kill creeps and the whole magic abuse thing...
Personally, I find Empire Earth or Rise of Nations a lot more fun online. At least with both of em, you can make bombers if your enemy keeps himself hidden behind walls for too long.

WC3: Frozen Throne has that level limit on killing creeps, and a new hero for each of the races. The missions are pretty cool too.

I play AOE, AOE ROR, AOE2 and AOE2 expansion, and Age Of Mythology and the Empires: Dawn of the modern world demo, Star Trek Armadas 1 and 2, Impossible Creatures, Red Alert 2, and Yuris Revenge for my strategy games. And I'm good at all of them .
@Eviscerator- aoe2 DOES have formations. Get the expansion if Kings doesnt- i wouldnt know.
@KanoBlade- Can we have a game? I consider my self an intermediate-xpert at conquerors, could you test that theory? we can play TCP/IP. I'll DC mail you.
@Muz- if people hide behind their walls and castles, keep them in their base, mine all the gold on the map, and Trebuchet them out.

AOE2 is great, WC3 is great, DOD is great. Only WC3 stopped working, and so did DOD.

yeah.. i remember TA.. making all those supernatural units just to stretch the limits (which in 1 out of 2 cases ended up with a crash )
still good tho, the only problem is the AI, they build their bases way to compact even if there's alot of space (which ends up with tanks getting stuck all over the place), but still, when they start firing nukes, it gets quite exciting

another good tactic for killing someoen that hides behind walls and castles is to build castles on one side of the enemie's castle ....that is pretty fun

Yeah, keeping them in their base works... but that takes AGES. Probably about 3-4 hours.
BTW, forgot to mention C&C: Generals. It's a great multiplayer game, especially if you put aside the truck bombs and weapons of mass destruction. Dunno how it slipped my mind.
