Why should someone be an admin because they made alot of games or some really good ones at least? Being an admin has nothing to do with making games at all actually, just look at Shadow Caster!
Infact, if your spending so much of your time making games, then you won't be able to forfil your duties as an admin because you don't have the time, thus it being illogical to be an admin.
The criteria for being an admin, apart from the man sex bit, should be someone who is a good, honest and possible popular person who is fair and reasonable, knows a quality creation when they see one, can resolve conflict, have some kind of knowledge to help them aid in the running of the site, and tends to have the time do forfil the duties. Also it would help if they have a decent internet connection and tends not be a huge critic of anything...ie they're not prejudiced...and they should be willing to give pretty much all of the sumbitted games a fair go.
...that's the end of my rant...thank you!

You become an admin by the process of sheer good fortune, evidence of previous activities (I've been working at Total Klik, Kliketty Klik, Cellosoft net Lite, Klik-Me, Fergs Kliktime, Cafelite, and a couple of others which I cant think of) and you need to be well known!

Smeby isn't an admin because he'd make massive news posts devoted to his Deep-Throat avatars, and yes that was a double sided quip referring to his avatar clips and also his sexual preferences...

But look at his rating he has about the highest ratings on this site besides the admins.Which makes him mostly one of the most popular on this site. And plus the dude is known all over the web because of his awesome games but the only thing i think is wrong with it he probably wouldn't want to be one.
haha @ Shen.
But look at his rating he has about the highest ratings on this site besides the admins
It's about time you learned that ratings don't matter, someone can spam a bunch of crap and get a high rating (until their stuff is deleted and they're banned).
And Circy... wow.
One of the best ways to be an admin somewhere is to go to #k&p on the Blitzed Network, or just go around big klik places like The Daily Click or Natomic.
Smeby isn't an admin because some people still respect TDC. He fills his position well here, he releases his "games" that usually consist of about 3 minutes of playtime (except for a few), and he tries to help people out (once in a great while). I'm not the only one who thinks he's just a bit over rated, he's a nice guy sure, but it would piss alot of people off if he were to become an admin. The reason he has all those points is that everyone seems to download anything that he puts up here. His mario open source has more downloads than I have seen in a while, and it wasn't even on the front page. People see his name and immediately click download. It's sad really.

No you have to start uplaoding stuff makin' previews and writin' reviews.
Anywayz i think that the next admin should be chosen with a poll so the users can vote who they want as a new admin.Or by having competitions or something.
The question is why would we need more admins?
I think your forgeting what an admin is...ie an administrator...ie someone who administrates things...ie someone who is dedicate to administrating this site rather than having to worry about making the games. I've mentioned that before. And the fact of the matter is that you don't need all that many admins to run any site, like this is not a small site by any means, but it's not a large one either.
We don't have all that many users logged on at the same time, we don't have that many submissions going through that often. If seems illogical to me why there would be a need to have more than 1 admin logged onto the site at one particular time, and it seems the mere number of admins there are and their geographical placement, then we should pretty much have almost 24 hour admin coverage.
...yeah...

Being an admin is so glorius. I can't wait to get full admin rights and delete all the other admins so I have run of this joint... did I say that out loud????

I wouldn't say being an admin eats in to your time to make games... it's real life that does that.
From what I've seen, Smeby is a responsible person who may or may not make a good admin - it's up to Shadow to decide that, not how many games (or indeed reviews) someone has posted.
You check by looking at your Profile or your User Admin page and no they don't give DC points for good grammar and spelling..................at least i don't think so.
oh my signature was a joke i found on some old community site, i thought id changed it to "Next step publishing must burn in the everlasting fires of hell" well ill change it now...
Grazzum, I just checked the number of DC Points you have, and its a nice round number.
Zero.
Zilch.
Zip.
You don't earn points by just spamming in the forums, you've actually gotta do stuff Reviews, Previews, Downloads and Articles. Bedding admins also gets you 10 DC points.

Darkman, don't ask why I'm getting so defensive about this issue, but admins can download stuff without adding to the counter. In fact, anyone can. Anythings possible, so lets not judge lest ye be hit with a hammer.

Hey, being admin ain't as fun as it sounds. Sure, you get to delete whatever comments people make about you and stuff. And you get to look at the Pending page long before everyone else does. And you get access to the news page to do post whatever you like.
But after a few months, all the glory kinda wears off. You'll end up having to keep the Pending page empty of well.. pending stuff, though like most admins in my time, you could just wait for someone else to do it >:/.
The real problem would be all the trouble you'd have dealing with the fools once you get popular enough. People will know you have power. And they'll try to get you to use it to their advantage. There'll be all these DC-mails asking you to delete stuff, asking about the unwritten rules that've been laid out a hundred times, asking you to put in polls, put their games on the front page, lawyering on why their games haven't been accepted on the front page (For God's sake, the download link on that game needed a password!), really poorly animated bribes and trying to trade stuff for DC points, and a bunch of other crap I'd rather not mention.
Point is, if you're gonna be a DC admin, you'll need more time than most of you have. Sure, if you're like me, Circy, Ashman, Pete, and those other guys and do nothing but hang around the DC all day, it's fun. It's rewarding. But I'm sure most of you wouldn't want to spend about half an hour online every day answering mail from idiots, a few hours downloading 20 MB worth of newbie uncompressed junk, and even more time putting some of the better stuff on the front page AND making it look nice with pure HTML.
In one short sentence...

On a side note...
Anyone out there think I should try and ask for my adminage back from Mike? It'll probably mean I have less time to spend on games, but heck, I spend a few hours online every night for reasons I'd rather not mention.
A few people have been asking me about it a while ago, but at the moment, my ISP cut me off for reasons unknown, so I gotta wait till I get a new account or new ISP.

I don't hang around as much as I seem. In fact, I usually have a post double. He thinks he looks like Macauley Culkin!
