I heard something on some channel that yes, they found that time travel is impossible, or at least with current technology-however with computers getting faster we'll soon have a processor that can process an infinite amount of data at the same time-so it could predict exactly what would happen at the time you wanted to 'travel' to and therefore create a virtual world based on that time. Not time travel, but damn close.

They actually have made something go faster than the speed of light, interestingly enough. I read it a while ago and forget specific details, but it was something along the lines of they shined a light through this gas and the colours dispursed and the created a spectrum and the red part of the spectrum got there before normal light could possibly do so.
But that's nothing special when you think about it cause light is light, which has no mass, therefore can travel at any speed without having adverse effects...in theory.
The speed of light in regards to pretty much most relativity theories is really an iffy thing. I can't remember what theory it is, might be something to do with Eisteinian relativity again, but it basically says that light is a constant at all speeds. So this basically means the speed of light will always move 300,000,000 m/s no matter how fast the observer is going...even if your going towards it at mega fast speeds, it won't come towards you any faster.
Alot of the theories are REALLY far out.
Again with regards with the time thing. It's important to note a few thing. Speed...or velocity should I say to be more technical...is basically a distance in a certain amount of time. So you say you've moved 100m in 10 seconds, that's 10 metres per second, or 36km/h...fine easy. But then you can go back the other way and say...well displacement, is considered as going a certain speed over an amount of time...so your going 36km/h...or 10m/s...for 10 seconds, you will travel 100m...indeed...
...so what i'm saying is time is a tangible thing in this regard. It can be quantified, and in everyday non-relativistic physics, you realise one particular thing. And that is that you can't actually have a negative measurement, as least not physically. You can't say...well my car is -3 metres long and weighs -1.8ton...cause that's just not possible. Negativity is more of a mathematical thing than a physical thing...sure we have devices that give a negative reading like a voltmetre...but can you physically tell the difference between 1 volt and 100volts that easily?...sure there'd be more of a spark, but it's much easier to say "Yeah, that field would be around 10 acres" or "I'd say it's 100 metres to the pin from here Shooter"...
...do you also notice one more thing that you can quantify in this way?
Yes...that's right TIME! "How long have you been in the sun for...6 maybe 8 hours"...oh yeah...You can differentiate the differences in time between 2 points, as you can for the points between 2 goal posts...and they both be positive values...where am I going?...YOU CAN'T GO BACK IN TIME FFS!!!!

anything faster than the speed of light would probably be invisible because light particles wouldn't travel fast enoguh to reflect off the fast object. If it isn't invisible, the image of the object would appear as an instant streaking blur. It would take a lot of energy to accelerate an object to this speed though.

well I wouldn't say invisible, but you would get a delayed image of the object, similar to the effect of objects who travel at supersonic speed.

i wonder if anyone has ever tried to trap light inside a box or something and squash it until it cannot move at all
i doubt it could be squashed at all though since it is almost non mass.
but there are particles that scientists believe make up around 92% of the universe that are invisible i forget the name
they could be faster than light.

the speed of light we all know of is the speed of light on the emptyness or whatever its called in english. But on water on even air its speed variates, that's how refraction is posible
