Can someone tell me what's wrong with this example? There is a background box moving to the right and the screen scrolls with it. The problem is that the box stretch as it move, leaving a trail behind. Just see for yourself:

I haven't checked your file, but what you need to do is create a background object (gradient or plain or your own creation) then make it cover the whole play area and that should fix it.
It seems your host doesn't allow direct linking. I looked at your file though. It may just be corrupt. Try putting another background system object onto the level editor. Why? Because sometimes if my mouse goes over an action in the event editor below an object that isn't on the level editor, then it performs an illegal operation.
Your system box object probably doesn't exist because you probably deleted it.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say the file is corrupted... I don't get any illegal operation if I move my mouse around, plus there's only on background system box and a quick backdrop there. Do you have the latest build, 117?
I still added a BSB but it does the same thing.
Oh, and there's something strange I just noticed: if you don't modify the BSB (no image), then the box will simply stop moving when the screen start to scroll! What the hell is this???
Edit: Oh! One last thing! I really don't think it's a corruption since it does that with every parallax tutorial I've tried! Of course, you have to midify them a bit so the BSB doesn't take the whole screen... Otherwise, they all work, of course
The only time I have seen that happen is when the Back Ground System Box is transparent. If the one furthest back has a transparent color it leaves trails. Double check to make sure it is not transparent. Also, try enabling or disabling VRAM.
99 percent chance that the above post is 100 percent correct.
Thats because the sky has no transparent color. If you delete it then the other ones leave trails because they have transparent colors. Like I already said, the one furthest back can't have a transparent color.
99 percent chance that the above post is 100 percent correct.
Wrong. Even if you fill the transparent part of the trees BSB, it'll still do the same thing. Like Chris said, you need to put another BSB in the back AND this BSB MUST be moving as well, otherwise you get the same bug. It is a bug there's no other way.
