I could bet any amount of money that you have never been to Finland, and you probably don't know anything about Finnish culture anyway. But fine, if that's your opinion.
Heh, there's a reason that I don't know much about Finnish culture. It's because there isn't much. It's not because I've avoided researching it - Finland often comes up on my reading trawl - but from what I've gather, it's just a small country with a small population and it's full of lakes. Also they speak Finnish, which is a Finno-Ugric language. I recollect that it's somehow related to Hungarian (but I might be getting this mixed up).
That is actually true. I had a Hungarian boy in my class, in elementary school, many years ago. He taught me a few Hungarian words, and many of them actually resembled the Finnish words for the same thing. But you know, Finland is a small country, so of course it's a bit harder to find info about it, but that doesn't mean there's nothing.
Oh well, enough nationalism and stupidity. Couldn't we let this topic die again now?
"Oh please... Will you stop judging countries on basis of what wars they've fought. We stood against Russia with inferior military technology, and with like ten russian soldiers per one finnish man, and we were never occupied."
Although it could be that Russia thought, "hold on! Our own country is about 378 million square miles as it is. We don't really need any more land. Even if most of ours is ice!"
Anyway Finland wouldn't take much of a part in any decent war anyway because only the big boys take part. Like oh say Britain. (i joke with you)
I believe Russia also wanted Finland for tactical advantages etc. And I really doubt that they'd just "give up", after throwing thousands of men do their deaths, without result. You know how Russians are
