I need a sound to use for a laser pistol in the game im working on. I have a sound for when it is shooting, but I need one for when it is being charged. You know that high pitched hum when something electric is charging up... I need that.

Thanks

for that effect, you'll actually need 2 sounds:
1 for charging up, and 1 looping sound for when it's at the highest pitch.

Try www.findsounds.com

I'm so good at making sound effects. I'd help except I don't want to.

www.flashkit.com is a great place for sound effects, they have a 'good' selection, and lets you preview the sound before downloading, I recomend the site highly. Just click on SOUNDFX on the top bar with all the other sections.

OK I've been to findsounds, a1freesounds and flashkit already. I've found notihng like what I need. If you actually have the sound I'm looking for, that would be great.

Never stops me...

Show me the power child,
I'd like to say,
That I'm down on my knees today,
Gives me the butterflies,
Gives me away,
'Til I'm up on my feet again,
I'm feeling outshined.

No, its because the only mic available is too crappy and no one can make that sound with thier voice.

Have you tried the KNP, TGF, CNC or MMF sound libraries?

For example if you want the power-up thing: KNP sound libs has "POWERUP.WAV", "POWERRUN.WAV" and "OSCILLAT.WAV" under the "EFFECTS" folder and MMF has "Alien injection", "Beam down" (just reverse it in MS Sound recorder), "WAVE12.WAV", etc.
