Greetings. I know I've never released any games (at least, not online), so there's no way for you guys to know how good I am at programming, but hear me out. I've had a very interesting project "on hold" for at least a year because of graphics issues,
and I really need a talented spriter. Info on the game is here: http://www.geocities.com/thylordobsidion/Home.html
Just click on the red link titled "Click here to download the instruction manual to a game project I'm working on." That contains an early version (I.E., stuff can and will change later on) of the game's instructions. It should give you a good idea of what the game is going to be like.
So, I'll get down to buisiness now. I need someone who can do GOOD graphics (or at least good lineart and animations; I myself am very good at shading things) in the style of, say, Secret of Mana. I don't mean graphics that look quite like that; I mean graphics from that sort of perspective, a sort of "not really top-down" game view. Somewhat like Lost Valley's map sections, except that this game is obviously not retro.
If anyone is interested, email me at killerjedi2k@hotmail.com with some samples of your work. If possible, it would help if one of the samples is, say, a kind of cool looking teen-male-hero-type character with a guitar, seeing as that's going to be the game's main character. You know, just to show that you can make that character.
Like I said, if you can do lineart and animations but not shade too well, that's
also fine. Just send me flat shaded artwork (so that I know, for example, the character's general shirt or skin color, etc...). I can do the shading if need be.
Thanks in advance to anybody who might want to help.

won't you look up at the skyline
at the mortar, block, and glass
and check out the reflections in my eyes?
you see they always used to be there
even when this all was grass
and I sang and danced about a high-rise
The link to the instructions have changed. Now, you click on the giant Sonic Storm logo.

http://a.1asphost.com/Grazzum/Char%20on%20Rockeh.bmp Here's my real shit 1 min sprite, I can do better and use more colors. But i dunno if i want to dedicate myself, can I just draw you a backround for the title screen? Or whatever, I might just toss you random sprites. I'm lazy.
Hey, that's really cool. Seems like you're up to the task, in fact. Even if you didn't refine the sprites much beyond that, I could easily edit and shade them from there... So if you want to dedicate yourself to the project, you would be perfect. It's up to you, I guess. I hope you decide to work on it, your art style fits my idea of the game sprites perfectly.

I touched the image up a bit, cleaning up the lines, adding some very subtle shading, making more of an actual face... and it came out really good! If you do want to do the graphics you'll be 100% perfect!
Heh, you're pretty much right about the word, Istvan. Thanks for pointing that out. (No anger intended... just wanted to clear that up so I don't suddenly make an enemy)

Well i totally re vamped (Thought that word would be appropriate) my comptar, so I have nothing (No Flash MX, No Photoshop 7, No MMF, No Fruityloops 5 ) So I only have paint, I also have school to attend to but If I have time (Pretty much when my lazyness doesn't kick in) I'll doodle. Oh, and note that the link doesn't work.
Man, I love your vehicles and back rounds. I love paint and all, but it's much easier using the built in pixelater in MMf because all the colors are laid out for you. http://a.1asphost.com/Grazzum/Knight%20and%20Flags.bmp
cheers. I like paint more than the TGF/MMF picture editors cos you can continually save plus other reasons. Its simple and has everything you need. Whatever rocks your boat though.
'oh yeah? he's thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?'
