Hey all! I'm working on a really nice Zone Runner Style game at the moment, and I'll need a few ideas! Basically, try to think up an idea for a new object that I can place in my levels.
What I have so far:
Droid: This is you, of course.
Energy Spheres: You must collect all of these to complete the challenge.
Bulk Bots: These will make you explode if you touch them, costing you a life. They aren't very fast, though.
Driller Bees: These are like the Bulk Bots, except twice as fast! Watch out!
Static and Moving Spikies: Touching these will make you explode!
Moving Platforms: These move left and right, but you don't have to move with them like in Zone Runner.
Disappearing Platforms: These flicker on and off; you cannot stand on one while it is off.
Metal Springs: These will make you bounce into the air.
Key (Not Yet Implemented): Collect this to unlock its respectful door.
Locked Door (Not Yet Implemented): You'll need a key to get through here.
So get posting! I want to see some good ideas! However, I'm only going to pick two!

Good idea Simen. I have implemented an object called Push Bombs. When pushed off the edge, they will fall. When they hit the floor, a wall, or any enemies, they will explode. THe explosions do not cause other things to explode however. So if the bomb misses the enemy and hits the platform, the enemy will still be there.

I've implemented locked doors and key cards. There are three different colored key cards and doors, and each card opens its respectful door, like in Fishhead 3, except the door opens immediately once you collect the key card.
Now I just need one more idea, then I need to implement it, and add a few special effects, and I can start working on levels! Woo hoo!

Ideas like this are so easy to come up with, so here's a few of them for you.
Ideas:
You could have teleporters to allow for more inventive level designs, but sometimes they just make levels monotonous and repetitive so don't overdo it if you chose to use them.
Another idea would be like mini bear traps or something that hold you in place for a few seconds when you trigger them. These could be placed in a strategic spot near an enemy, or an entrance to an area, and you could collect a stick or push a drop bomb on them to destroy them / disable them.
You could have mines that are timed. When you hit one, the timer starts. You need to think quickly or you're a red mist before you can say "boom".
Flying enemies that drop eggs / bombs / whatever on you and turn around when they reach the end of the level.
'Fake' coins (if it's coins you're using) that look slightly different to normal coins (ie. slightly discoloured or a different symbol in the middle) and either kill you outright or paralyze you for a few seconds like a bear trap.
A powerup that is always hard to get, but instantly kills all enemies in the level.
A coin that acts like the disappearing platform... when it's on, it can be collected. When it's off, it can't.
Well I only recently decided After speaking with Mitch (Aku) on MSN, I told him that ZR3 will most likely be worked on, and I'm gonna start it soon when I get some ideas. And if ZR3 gets completed, after that, and Boshum, I shall probably be ending my klik, uh, "career" for a while.
