There are some weeks when (in my opinion) none of the games/apps put up for nomination and voting really deserve a GOTW award...
OK, so there's always the choice of not voting, BUT would a 'none of the above' voting option be possible?
I just think this because looking back at TDC GOTW awards, alot of the games are actually quite good! Now, alot of the games winning awards aren't really (again, in my opinion) worthy of GOTW recognition.
Note: This is nothing to do with the games up for the new GOTW, I've already voted... This is just something I've often thought when seeing GOTW.

I agree. Ballbloke never deserved GOTW (I'm not complaining, I got 5 DC points out of it, but then Shad got rid of 3 of them because he can't write to logfiles properly and thought I was playing the system, which I'd never do because I'm a kind person and besides that wouldn't look very good considering I'm a pillar of the community, or one community at least, I haven't worked out which one but it certainly isn't this one, could be the Clickteam forum, but pillars should support and since I've never actually donated or paid for anything then there's no way I could be a pillar of anything, and anyway it's Fire's fault for making his stupid foetus game, because then I wouldn't have to review it and lose points because he deleted said foetus game, so I wouldn't have to ruin GOTW with my pathetic game, but that's Circy's fault because he had a birthday and wanted a platformer, so I blame Circy for the GOTW, and, er, oh, I can't remember what I'm talking about now, but it's probably the longest sentence written with some semblance of grammar since the newbies who type in CAPS or Stupid Uppercase First Letters and haven't heard of punctuation don't count, and it's all your fault Nova, I hope you're happy that you wasted people's bandwidth and server space.)

However I do think there should be a NONE option for this weeks General Poll. No chance i'd ever download any game without a screenshot. You gotta show the commitment to get my vote peeps...although small things like movement engines that are less than like 100kb are alright.

Yeah, I'd go with it. I've seen several times when it would just be an embarrasment to have a game on the list get a GOTW. When "None" wins the competition, then we could just have a big message by our friendly admins saying that "No games deserved to win this week. Now on to our next games...."
Of course, what's to stop people for voting for "None" every week? We all know plenty of retards who'd give a superb game thumbs down or a bad one-liner review.

When the Academy Awards roll around each year, they always have winners. There have been years where most of the nominations were fairly crap but they didn't just get up and say "Sorry, nothing deserved to win. You should all be ashamed of yourselves."
It's not the 'Good Game of the Week' award, it's the 'Game of the Week' award. The best of whats submitted that week wins, not a good game that's been submitted. There shouldn't be a none option, that's really a dumb idea.

Well, it's true that...Oh crap. My avatar was just cut out...Oh anyway, Ashman made a good point...It just depends on how popular the game itself is, not how good it is. Billy Bob is a fun game, but I don't think it should be GOTW. Its just my opinon.

Personally, I think they should just scrap the whole GOTW thing and just go for a GOTM thing with 3-4 prizes. But I guess SC has gone too far to just scrap the whole GOTW thing.
BTW, is it just me, or do a lot of the old GOTW winners seem to be missing?
