I tried to make an application in Darkbasic. where it takes a model (3ds) and shades the textures paint like after its done that it export the images and animation based on a simple script u make! And finally it creates a .gam file with 1 active object where all images are placed like u choosed!!!
175 images
2 minutes scripting (txt) and then 1 click and its all automated
Heres what my 3d model looks like with my "fake shading"
Oh yeah alot of options like Printing framenumber in topleft corner! Outlining like on that image!
Its surtantly gonna save me a bundle of time rendering and importing!
Im also interested in knowing if anybody would be interested in a shortcut for character design purpose! Cause im making like 40 dif types of hai, 20 faces, 20 upper bodies, 20 lower bodies, 40 weapons and 10 shields! All which can be defined to premade (110) different textures. The app will have realtime view, and cam position is already 45 top down! Ur much needed character can be designed in matter of seconds! Choose segments, Choose Textures or use custom made, click 1 button and 20 dif anims will be exported to bmp (from move, idle, attack and so on) ur choice is to 4/8 or 16 directional.
So u actually got a finished char in like minutes. Easy as pie!
If enough is interested i feel its a go and will start as soon as possible. And if its a success ill begin a creature/monster/enemy creater!
Title so far: RPG TimeWatch PC/NPC Creator
The finished product will be around 30-40mb in size! But u will have unlimited choices and much fun with the buildin Name Generator. Also The Autocreate .gam file which opens games factory pro and import all frames automaticly, based on the files filenames "stopped_1_8_1.bmp" will import to stopped animtion direction 1 on a 8 direction animation the last number is framenumber...
Hope to get some feedback!?!

hmm! This program will be able to generate 14080000000 different looking finished animated and auto imported to MMF, GFP Active object! Meaning if u just create 2 custom textures u can create 28160000000 different characters! I think 40 mb is worth it.. But hmm okay my sdadsl is 4/4mbit so i can talk all i want! But using 3 hours to download this app on 56k modem and urll never have to paint characters anymore...
As they say! The first reply normally makes the biggest impression so i guess it would be most usefull on my own toolshelf!

What's wrong with a 40MB program downloader? Considering how many people complain about how they can't draw at all in the Click community lots of people should be flocking to see what this can do. Shouldn't be a problem downloading if you're on Cable or DSL connections. Dial up connections may have to leave the download up over night, though.
A program that draws, animates and creates the activeobject based on ur selection of premade Modelsparts, Textures and which anims u want and how many direction u want!

Sounds great but if whoever downloads it is only useing the parts you've made to make their characters, then we're going to get a lot of similar people. I'd keep it for yourself- render each part individually and then use that to make a custom designed character in game. New shields, swords etc could all be shown on your character, which, as anyone who has tried it will tell you, is a very time consuming thing to make if you have to hand animate all the different animations with each item.
Why the hell am I on the computer at 1 in the morning? No, don't answer.

That's the risk people take if they freely made use of the MMF/TGF libraries as well. MMF actually has some nice libraries, and I'd have to use some of the backdrops and stuff for future games. But the chance that we see a sudden burst of games that all look the same around the Click Community would probably be slim to rare.
