"Statistics is alleged to be a branch of mathematics but its only known use is to win arguments. That said .. the following information is presented:
a. The number of physicians in the United States is 700,000
b. Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year is 120,000.
c. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171. (US Dept.of Health & Human Services)
THINK ABOUT THIS:
a. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000 (yes, eighty million!).
b. The number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) is 1,500.
c. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188.
Statistically, doctors are about 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS A DOCTOR.
Alert your friends to this threat. We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand.
Note: As a public health measure, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical attention!!"

that's fool's logic... think about it. what is an accidental death by a physician? when a person who would be living dies because the physician is trying to save them. yes it's unfortunate, but shit happens. far more people are SAVED by physicians than gun owners, like echisketch says. meanwhile, we have the gun owners...

sorry but this made me 'lol'. sure it's the number of ACCIDENTAL deaths, but how many gun owners kill people on PURPOSE?! and how many physicians kill people on purpose? this argument is completely flawed. but maybe that's the point

Mitch M: Fact: Bowling for Columbine was cut and edited. Michael Moore EDITED most of the information so it supported his views. I enjoyed Bowling for Columbine, but NOT as a documentry. But it was funny to see the interview with that guy who sleeps with his gun!

Mitch M: Fact: Bowling for Columbine was cut and edited. Michael Moore EDITED most of the information so it supported his views. I enjoyed Bowling for Columbine, but NOT as a documentry. But it was funny to see the interview with that guy who sleeps with his gun because he thought guys were after him! And seeing Charlton Heston walk away from the interview after getting ticked off!
