I think TGF is way better than MMF because you can make games faster without setting window sizes or modifying active objects one at a time. I know how to use MMF but making games takes a lot more time.I will just say that TGF is great for newbies but we all expect everyone higher than a standard user or a pro to use MMF.I am converting to MMF and i agree on how powerful it is.Post all your mean comments if you want to.
Lazarus is right. As much as I love TGF, MMF
is just, overall, better. I don't even own
MMF and I know this.
That is just common knowledge. There has been
much arguing about their image editing though.

MMF is superior because:
-26 alterable values per active vs. 3 alterable values
-10,000 object limit vs. 260
-Allows more animations (somewhere over 200) per active
-More stable
-No .gam file
-A lot more extensions
I agree that MMF is more powerful than TGF, but TGF is easier to use. I'm kind of addicted to MMF, but it's always a challenge to make a powerful game in TGF or even KNP (hehe I've made one in KNP for the KNP competition)...

While we are on the subject. Windows 0.1beta is better than Xp any day.
It's a stupid question really. Which is better to use, Windows 3.1 or Windows XP? Okay, Windows 3.1 is easier to use, because there's less there. But obviously, nobody in their right minds would use it. It's just out of date and too limited.
Recently I convinced a truly die-hard TGF fan to just use MMF straight for a few days. A few days later they emailed me and said "Yeah, you're right... MMF is better...".
So, you TGF people, get with the current technology and stop complaining about so many things which are fixed in MMF. "How do I play MP3 with no bass.dll licencing?" use Directshow in MMF. "How do I change the transparency of something at runtime?" use MMF. "Why can't someone make XYZ extension for TGF?" because it's out of date and noone uses it any more. Get MMF which has all the latest extensions.
I use both TGF and MMF, I use TGF for doing gfx and simple
coding, MMF for the cool flashy stuff...its the same as my shoes,
I have a pair of real old shoes wich really fit well but look like
shit, and I have a pair of new shoes that look kinda neat but
its a horror to wear them, but I have to sometimes (for my job for example)

TGF is seemingly easier to use for a first time user as the GUI is more simple. However if you give it an honest try I think you will agree with me, that MMF is better.
Not only is it more stable, it is also more powerful and once you get a hang of it, it is not at all difficult to use. I would not go back to TGF anymore.
It's not even a question. It's like asking someone if he wants to make music on a toy keyboard or on a synth machine. Making music on the toy keyboard will be easier, but the results will be severly impaired.
It's worth the effort to use new and more advanced software in order to have better games, even if they take longer to make. Besides, MMF is not a very drastic shift from TGF, so why are you people complaining that MMF is way harder to use? That's being lazy and not interested/bothered to learn using new software at all.

Why is it easier to play on a toy keyboard than on a real one? I think it
sounds both shit if u can't really play it. Its easier to drive a toy train than a real one tho.
this is an age-old argument that has been started before like a billion times.
Obvisouly MMF is better, there no doubt but i think it should be which one do you Prefer!
Max is right about his second statement, though. I wish everyone would get MMF and use my extensions so I can activate the brainwashing code I had inside them.
Andyuk your games are simple but are still great.Possibly the only person who can release games about stupid animals and get away with it ahahahaa.Anyway i prefer tgf as i nerver get close to the limits then if i some how do i load em up in mmf and do the lil dabble on it and save it.Also i prefer to make my grafix in tgf cuz i have everything i really need there.plus fo other stuff i just load up psp lol.Mwahahahahahahaaa!!!
TGF may have an interface that is easyer for newbies, but overall, MMF in no way can match up to TGF, even if you are based on something simple, TGF just doesnt let you do half of what MMF lets you do!
I remember in old days when Ashman showed me how to do scrolling in KNP, it was totally awesome. Ashmans knp games are heaps better than the crap he produces these days, you should of seen the 3D effect in his farming game.
Why on earth would extension devs want to withhold information to stop other people making extensions? I help people all the time with extensions, if you have a question, just ask...
Anyway, if you have a decent knowledge of C/C++, the SDK should be pretty easy to pick up. Oh, and use CICK.
