The last couple of weeks have been pretty strange here at TDC. At least I think so considering how things have been before.
An admin in my mind is a person who creates order in chaos, that shows as a good example and generally helps create a good mood. Lately though it has not really been the case:
1. Shab. Has acted very neutral and generally just been much away.
2. Wong Chung etc also acts ok, when he is around that is (seems more absent that Shab).
These 2 admins do not do anything bad or wrong, they are just not much around it seems.
3. Circy. Generally been aggresive and rude. Lately it seems he has improven though.
4. Pete. Whom I have talked with before and initially behaved well. Very agressive and rude at times.
5. SC. Seems absent. But acted almost human the last time he was around.
So Circy and Pete who has contributed the most lately have also acted the worst lately. I dont think I need to list everything with adresses. I am talking about the forum and comments at previews and downloads. I believe you are all clever enough to know what I mean.
What does all this lead to? Well my point is: Admins think about your actions and behavior sometimes. Do you act and behave like you should?
You may slap or ban me or what ever as you see fit since you are admins, but I truely believe I have a point here.
The same actually applies to the members. Think about your behavior sometimes. It seems it is better to be homosexual than a n00b. A lot of members support marriage between homosexuals but take "joing guidosoft" ... and get flamed allthough we had another enthustiastic thread about how everyone was created equal. Sometimes it seems not so equal after all ...
If you knew, I would have to kill you...

you raise fair points. i agree i may have been acting a bit more aggressively - some people are acting like idiots and circy and myself just get annoyed with them. we're here more so we get more involved and therefore more easily annoyed. plus i'm bored and like looking for arguments you're right though, i will calm down.
Pete and Wong are pretty cool guys from chatting with them back and forth through PMs. If anything, I think, they just want to participate in and have fun with conversations and activities across the message boards here while keeping an eye out for trouble. They close things and delete things when that is called for.
Aggressive and rude? Well, perhaps a little aggressive, but definately not rude. We're just trying to crack down on idiots. And by that I don't mean everyone here, just a select few who choose to make others lives here miserable (ie, posting empty previews, insulting comments, etc)
I noticed a few admins getting away with rudeness/profanity/whatever, too

I'm home for the summer on a much slower connection than normal, which is the reason I'm not around as much as I would like to be. But I'm still watching!
To expand a little. I know a part of an admins job is also to "punish" those who deserve it.
However I have seen some cases with a little over agressive behavior against n00bs. Telling things in a calm manner is much more helpful than being sarcastic or taunting. When ever you are attacked you react by being defensive. So an agressive answer will most likely be rejected automatically. Writing constructive on the other hand tends to make people listen more to the message and think about the answer: "Yes, I can see he is right".
It may be you have written the same thing 1000 times before to other members but a new (unexperienced) member cannot possibly know that since he or she believe they do the right thing (if it is due to lack of knowledge). Treat every new member (that commits the same mistake) good and he or she will most likely learn and improve.
It is a totally other thing if the member knows how to behave and by purpose try to mess things up.
I'm here more than you think, who do you think logs on at 3am and adds the new games to the database? Most I go without at least checking on this place is a day or two.
What we need is a Keeper of the Peace. An admin or some kind of figure of power who's not sided with anyone yet deals justice fairly and errr justly.
Yeah, I mean that's what an admin should do anyway, innit?

I got fired for a couple of dodgy front page posts but collectively Pete Nattress's forum abuse is 100 times worse than any public claims of my 13 incher.

Even though i disagree with what Circy does, at least he is active.
I have no problems with Pete though, he seems fair, unlike Circy, who will subtract DC points for no apparent reason, but as above at least they do something.
Um... Ive only subtracted a users points once, because he or she directly insulted me. The times when I say stuff like "MINUS XX DC POINTS FOR YOU" is just a joke - I don't actually carry it out.
I'm not a believer of deleting my own posts in an attempt to remove any mistakes I may have said, so please, try and find something which is classed as "rude"
Sejj, or "Jesse Johnston" as he is affectionately known by people who know his real name, is insane. He thinks I routinely spend time plotting against him, and once in a desperate bid for human contact he phoned one of my friends who had had no previous contact with him and excessively complimented him and our group about what great games we make.
I havent read all the replies, just the first message, and just wanted to say that yes, I have been away. I'm in the middle of my exam period so havent been spending time here cos I have A LOT of work to do But I should be back to normal by next week. Although I have been promoted at Supanova to Volunteer Coordinator and I might also be working at Myer so my availability might not go completely back to normal.
And if anyone has a complaint about an admin be sure to save a copy of the page where it has occurred and email it to me at shadowcaster at create-games dot com (didnt write the actual email address because I already get a lot of spam you can work it out ).
