I discovered a great way to help get DC up & running full force, its called the Start System, or SS. Basicly what it is about is you will be able to get a certain % of activity by doing stuff like commenting downloads, voting for downloads after, adding posts to the boards, searching for stuff, so on. By reaching a certain about of activity you will earn a star, once you have this star you can then do more things like add downloads, articles, previews, & so on, though say after about a week of ur activity going down, you will then lose this star & need to regain it. Without a star, features such as voting for a gotw, sumiting anything to DC will than be locked, forcing the community to grow because people will require to get more involved in the community to add to it. Its a great system hopefull Mike or Rikus (who ever runs DC, I lost track in the mess of things) will read over & find highly useful in making this site even better.
No, its actually spamming like usual will get you banned, keeping the spamming down to a min.
Also, stuff like noncontructive crit. & spamming will lower your activity rating missivly or even cause you to lose or going into nagitives with your stars! Giving people another reasion not to spam other then getting banned.
If they come here & just post there AMAZING game, they really arent apart of the community, they are just a walk through, just like if someone was to pass through a city, they arent apart of the community, they just pass through it. This is a system to help keep the community of TDC together with a more solid "glue".
The rating means nothing though, people just think it means how well people treat you, atleast newbies do. I've seen people with higher ratings treated werse then people with the newbie rating, all the rating means is how well you add (or spam) dc.
Brandon, your getting a negative reaction to your idea, so drop it. We already have a faulty hierarchy system, we don't need two. Quite frankly I don't like hierarchical societies.

Rude ass comments? No, I'm telling you that we have the system in place already. Nothing in your suggestion is original, we even have stars already!
Not to mention how much work it would take to institute such a useless system.
It would keep the new people newbies. Our system works fine the way it is without having to restrict people from areas.

Yeah? What would that system be, oh sumbit a game, get it reviewed & have it added it weither its shit or not. Ratings that mean nothing but you added stuff to DC, spam or not? Atleast with this system people who submit stuff will have worked to sumit it & thus less shit is submited because they cant just make something absolitly useless & add it. People will go around the site, be apart of the community that this is suppost to be before they can pertisipate in adding things to the community! Its not flawless but better then the messed up system we have now! The only reasion people wouldnt go for this system is because they are one of the people who submit the shit I'm talking about avoiding!
