well, just because it makes games, that doesn't mean it's a rip-off of clickteam. Other companies have been making tools like that since before clickteam were formed (or at least mainstream). As it happens, Game maker is really bad

Come to think of it, so does KNP, TGF, CNC and the rest!

I feel so damn bad for the people who are using GameMaker rather then Multimedia Fusion 1.5, its may be cheaper, but thats because its not nearly as good as MMF. I also feel for the people because they actually think they are using a program werth while!

from my experience of using Game Maker, TGF, CNC, KNP, MMF, REALBasic, C++, Basic, Jamagic, 3D Game Studio and some other random programs I've found
My opinion is that MMF is the best as far as 2D goes and 3DGS wins for 3D games. but maybe I'm just biased

Stick to MMF (or even Gfactory). Granted, it can make good 3D games, but Clickteam products are better. Remember these chicken nuggets of wisdom I teach!

I once used gamemaker in a deperate attempt to find something to make games with when my tgf 30 day trial ran out, every time i clicked something i got a message telling me that i needed to do something else first, after about half an hour i got a circle to move left and right.
Gamemaker is NOT easier than The games factory (and therefore mmf too)
although with a lot of effort it can probably do games that really quite good, I don't know for sure because i didnt play any other gm games.

Hey; I just joined a few moments ago. . .and I just bought the "Games Factory" and it should be here in a few days. I got it off of eBay; it's coming from Australia and I won for just about $1.20 American. I guess that's quite good! I didn't check out the demo from 'downloads.com' too much, but from what I read there and a few games I located, it looks to be quite good. I can't seem to find much information on this; is it still rather popular? Can someone tell me of a possible 'top 100 sites' location?
I wanted a super-easy way to create my own platform games and shoot 'em ups; will this really be not too difficult? I've tried the "Game Maker" and I haven't been able to really get anywhere with that.
The version I won is coming in a DVD-style case and says Europress/Big Bytes on the cover. Does anybody else have that release and is it a good one (or maybe an older release)?

The Games Factory is perfect for you if you want to make your own games using a drag and drop interface, but when you get more experienced at it (and trust me, it can take a while), get Multimedia Fusion instead. But enjoy making your first (and crappy) games - and they WILL be crappy to start with. Everyone goes down the same route

I wish I had the game Radix is showing, but alas, I'm only 11, and don't have that kind of money. Spent it all on doughnuts while Coololle and Phizzy have to beg for theirs.
Funny how things work out that way.
Don't worry Phizzy, I won't tell anyone how your sister told us all you think your a ninja (inflatable one at that). It will cost you a doughnut though.
I guess I still am the youngest member? That's kinda bad for people claiming their ignorance and misspellings on their age.
Coololle, there is no Phizzy cult. Give it up.

That's kinda like this sound of police talking, I hear the same sound in like every movie with police in it and certain games too, like Swat 3. Sad that I can actually recognize it.

Oh maaaaaan, GM really sucks. I tried it, it doesn't have at least 1/10 of the power and 1/20 of the comfort which MMF can give. Well indeed it has some nice stuff, but mostly that are things I never use
And, with MMF 2's release, I would like to see what will happen to GM community
I need painters, musicians and animators!

I was ignoring this post assuming it was more mindless arguments over the subject line topic, but it's turned in to a slushy bucket of spam
