There is an avi file given and I want to make a simple screensaver with it (in mmf). All the features I want:
1. Exit on keypress
2. Full Screen AVI playback
2. Looping play of AVI
Sounds easy isn't it? The problem is that when I finish it, I test it, wow, it works! Than put the files (avi, scr, cca) into the Windows\system32 folder, double click scr file, it works! But when I go to display properties, than set it up so that it will have that screensaver, I click test and I get a wonderful MCI error: file cannot be found (the avi). Try to check the folder, filename, blablabla. What object can do this to me and will even make Windows find the file... I tried AVI object, VideoPro Object, DirectShow object. But please tell me if I'm doing something wrong.
P.S.: I give the object the following: name.avi not C:\HGFKAS\FKAS\name.avi so that it is relative (the same folder as the cca) but it DOES NOT WORK.

In Display Properties, the working directory may be different from the directory the screensaver is in.
Try ".\name.avi" and not just "name.avi" - it might help, though it's just a guess.

Yeah, I was gonna say, that would work. That way WHATEVER dir. its in, as long as the AVI is with the screensaver, it will play it. Its not like its focused on finding it in a spacific spot on someones computer.

Still! It is still not working! Thanks everybody but it is still not OK for some strange reason. I make the file in C:\Downloads\Screensaver than put the 3 files (avi, scr, cca) into C:\WINDOWS\system32 Than go to display properties, screensaver, select the file and than I get an MCI error (the same) but when clicking test it works fine, except the video is not scalled for screen size
Anyone who has something similar screensaver in MMF or TGF please send me the files so that I may replace the movie with the one I want to put in. Please make sure you won't protect the file! Thanks. My e-mail is bbalazsmail@freemail.hu
Thanks again
