Damien, I doubt a man who couldnt move his body and had tubes all in him just cause he fell off a horse. Made him selfish to want to be normal and for others like him to be normal. Without living, being limited from things like walking or things people everyday do but take for as not much worth. To say you wouldnt want to find a cure if you couldnt do anything without someone helping you in simples things cause it make you selfish is crazy. If you couldnt walk and the only cure they had was a chair; he didnt have problems sitting. Why dont you image to live in a bed and you just used the bathroom on the bed cause you couldnt even move for years. Would you want to kill embryos to save thousands of people or let them die. Think about it...
Stem cell research isn't killing embryos. Embryonic cells are harvested from embryos only a few dozen cells in size. They aren't alive in any real sense, and you can't argue potential because the embryo wouldn't have been created for any purpose other than stem cell research.
Besides, people tend to forget you can get stem cells from adults and cord blood (they just aren't as useful).
