GOTW #282 - Brave Honey Bee

Grickmin's game, created for the 20-Event Klik Competition - called Brave Honey Bee - wins this weeks GOTW award. Excellent work there Mr Grickmin!

This weeks entrants - Super Blob Frog, Super Smash Bros: Arena, Blue Friends, Pencil & Paper 20 Event Deluxe Version, Zoomstar MegaRacing Maximum, EmI, Abduction, and GunGirl.

I think I was slightly generous with the inclusion of Abduction... it didn't have a screenshot of in-game action, nor did it have a decent description. Next time I won't be so nice...

Are all the votes for EmI or w/e legit? They seem to have gone up pretty fast, that's all. 17 people have downloaded it yet it already has 15 votes... I know that's perfectly possible, but also:

You guys are ridiculous. The only thing I did was release my game on Acoders, and citizen made a comment telling people to vote for it here. If that's wrong, sorry, but I'm going to release my games on my website.

Not to mention the fact my game name was misspelled, removed from the list, and now put on and misspelled again, and the people complaining about my supposed cheating doing the same. It's three letters, it's not hard.

Guy who made a comment on my game was actually my best friend IRL and I told him in my glee of excitement. If you want to take that one vote away from me (even though he came here on his own) then go ahead -- I could care less (and still fail to see how my friend supporting my game is against the rules). He was a great help in helping me shape the game to the professional level it is today, and I felt he deserved to know how well it's doing (or how well you guys think I'm cheating). To the best of my knowledge though all the votes are legit and chances are they're because I posted news on Acoders.

You guys take this thing way too seriously though, I wouldn't cheat, I spend my time doing things well and I like getting recognized for that, but I don't need to create fake validation. People who know me will vouch for that.

And while I'm at it, this site is completely unfair in its promotions. Compare the downloads of all the games who get front page blurbs with screen shots to those with only get blurbs and the ones who get nothing at all. You'll see a definite scaling in downloads. That's completely unfair for anyone involved in the GotW competition. It's completely playing favorites.

While i do think it's unfair that games get overlooked (as i commented previously), i do think it's unfair that an individual can enourage people to vote with bias towards one game. One should download all the available games for the award and then choose the one he feels deserves the award.

Although people should also bare in mind that the award doesn't actually mean anything, and the day after it is given, no one on Earth will know about it anymore!

and i voted for it, because i DID think it was the best of that lot with the racing game a close 2nd.. i leaned away from the racing one caus eit got really boring fast.

You surprised me. You guys have been attacking me, don't see how it's different if you've been here longer.

I didn't get him to vote for me, he did it on his own, because that's what friends do sometimes. Made me smile, sorry for having supportive friends.
